Happy 7 months old, dear baby Ansel! ❤

Today, you turn seven months old and you flashed your wide, toothless grin at me, like how you do umpteen times every day, when I took a photo of you.

It's been a month of gastronomic adventure and discovery with you in the past month. Let's see, your favourite food for now includes avocado, banana, pear and pumpkin but you've also tried potato, carrot, blueberries, apple, fish, chicken, sweet potato, brown rice, cereal and more! That's not bad for your introductory month of having solids, right? Although it makes me more exhausted having to cook your meals separately from ours daily, that bright smile of yours makes it all worthwhile.

You are also getting good at sitting down on your own though you tend to lose balance and fall over after some time. Haha. Like the previous months, you have been drooling and munching on your fingers incessantly but you have yet to cut your first tooth, so let's just wait patiently for now yeah.

Your sisters say you are very chubby and I think so too, you might just be the chubbiest one of the lot. It is a heartening thing to know because, like me, you are a preemie but I am relieved to see that you are gaining weight steadily. We love seeing your baby rolls and oh, you are easily tickled and will laugh and laugh when it happens.

We went for your vaccinations earlier this month and you were totally a trooper - your cries lasted merely 1 or 2 seconds despite having a jab on each thigh. That said, I think it's because I was there to comfort you and for now, judging by how you reach out for me or whine whenever I walk away, there is no doubt that you love me deep deep.

But you know what? That is not even a fraction of how much I love you. I can't even describe it but you are my world, or rather, our world because your siblings love you to the moon and back too.

Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in our lives and cheering us up every single day - something which we truly need during these gloomy times. Looking forward to more happy days stuck with you 24/7, my darling boy! ❤

〈The Sound of Silence〉是Simon & Garfunkel1964年的首張錄音室專輯《Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.》中的一首歌。推出後卻售量慘淡，也導致兩人散夥。到了1965年春天，該歌曲開始在電台上播放，卻意外獲得播放量的增長，也使製作人決定重新將此歌進行混音並發行，〈The Sound of Silence〉因此爆紅，也使Simon & Garfunkel重組，並以該歌名作為第二張專輯的名字。
　
介紹完歌曲背景後，讓我們來開始看這首歌。從其中的詞彙選用，如「黑暗darkness」、「鵝卵石之街streets of cobblestone」、「霓虹neon」，我們不難感知到歌曲的場景錯落於彷彿十九世紀的倫敦，因為霧氣蔓延而顯得似乎無盡的街。歌曲開始於一種精神狀態的模擬「Because a vision softly creeping因著一種幻覺正悄悄向我爬來／Left its seeds while I was sleeping趁我深眠留下種子遍地」，此一幻覺的襲來承襲前面的「darkness黑暗」，我們可以意識到不管接下來發生的事情為何，對敘事者而言，他已經陷於一種昏昧、幻覺蔓生的精神狀態。當我們感知到了此一型態之後，這段便以「Within the sound of silence伴隨寂靜之聲」作收，這是這首歌第一次出現「矛盾」的語境——究竟寂靜深處為何會有聲音呢？
帶著這樣的疑問，我們來到了下一段，與第一段的精神狀態不同，第二段的描述卻絲毫未帶有個人的意識，而是從外界種種來進行投射——敘事者在無盡的街上行走，為了抵禦濕氣與寒氣而將領袖立起，而即使如此，卻依然有些事物是能穿過領袖直接侵襲的，那就是霓虹。我們不難感知到這裡的「霓虹」似乎帶有著文明、發展的想像，當這種感覺卻依然停留在模糊的型態，卻又回到了第一段那樣類似的語句作結：「And touched the sound of silence觸摸著寂靜深處的聲音」。然而有了第一段的內在精神型態、第二段的外在世界描摹，我們便似乎開始感受得到究竟何謂「sound of silence」。
　
接著，來到了第三段，承接上段的光，敘事者的意識開始與外界結合，而使得他看見了幻覺「And in the naked light, I saw在奪目得近乎赤裸的光中，我看見／Ten thousand people, maybe more成千上萬的人，或許更多」，這樣的幻象似乎替sound of silence作出了一種情境式的衍釋——到了此時，sound of silence的具體特徵也終於浮現：「People talking without speaking人們交談卻未發聲／People hearing without listening聽見一切卻不聞／People writing songs that voices never share人們寫下那些歌，卻未曾共享歌聲」。交談卻未出聲，聽見一切卻聽而不聞，擁有歌曲卻未共享歌聲，這是一種冷漠的姿態，在二重唱所生存的當代，這種冷漠、文明以及歌曲所想抵抗的意識形態正好重疊在此刻。因此，在下一段，他們也終於第一次對此冷漠做出了痛心的批判：

並且敲起回音／In the wells of silence於寂靜之井中」，此時，這一種「silence寂靜」也終於清楚地被我們所認知到。這是一種先知的嘆息，生存在知道一切正往著崩毀命運的當代，想要大聲疾呼卻始終徒勞無功，這或許是二重唱在他們唱著這些歌曲的當代，最無可奈何的命運吧。
因此，到了最後，他們也只能眼睜睜地看著人們向著人工的神「neon god霓虹之神」祈禱，並留下最後的遺言。

【被男客人逗笑記】
MY HUMOUROUS MALE CLIENTS

不知是不是物以類聚，人以群分的關係，原來我的客人也蠻幽默的。

事件一：

男客人：「老師！哇，你真人的臉比較小，在螢幕上看你的臉是比較大的！」

我抬頭看著男客人。

「你今天來，是幫我看相的嗎？」

事件二：

我：「X先生，之前我這樣對你，是因為⋯⋯」

男客人一臉殷勤的說：「沒事，師父！你不用解釋，我都明白！我見過很多高人，高人高人一等，所以性格上都是有點奇怪，有些怪癖的！」

欸，不對，這是對我的讚譽嗎？怎麼聽起來怪怪的？🤨

事件三：

我站在餐廳外，等老公結帳。

突然，一把聲音：「李老師！」

我轉過頭，欸，一家大小，是不熟悉的臉孔，應該是影片的觀眾吧！

帶著口罩都能被認出，對方真是好眼力。

我立刻現出「空姐式的微笑」，並打招呼。#反應快

男士告訴我，他很想請我到他家看風水。我點頭說，可以等報名表開放時報名。

之後⋯⋯

他眼睛就一直盯著我的雙眸看，再三的問：

「老師，你⋯⋯看得到，對嗎？」

我心裡的OS：我今天戴著隱形眼鏡，看你們一家人的樣子很清楚。我們第一次見面，我沒有認錯，我視力沒問題啊～

所以我很自然的點頭：「看到啊！」

男士保持著禮貌的距離，頭繼續往前，目不轉睛的研究著我的眼睛，喃喃自語：「我看老師的眼睛，是看得到的。」

然後，彷彿得到答案後，男士臉上才露出滿意的笑容。

看著他的表情，心裡覺得有點莫名其妙。

我只是因為以前用錯眼霜，眼袋那裡長了很多油泡而已，眼睛沒什麼問題啊～

告別後，我站在電動扶梯上，腦袋好像被五雷轟頂似後，我才猛然驚覺⋯⋯🤯

原來他剛才是在問，我到底是不是開了天眼，能否看到無形的朋友！

I wonder whether it’s because of the theory “Birds of the same feather flock together”. I realise a number of my clients do have a funny bone in them.

Incident 1:

Male client, “Wow, Teacher! Your face in person is smaller! Your face look bigger on screen!”

I raised my head to look at him.

Me, “Are you here today to do face reading for me?”

Incident 2:

Me, “Mr X, I treated you that way earlier on, because ⋯”

Male client earnestly chirped, “No worries, Master! You don’t have to explain. I totally understand. I have met many expert masters. Being superior experts, they are all eccentric in their own ways and all have some quirks!”

Erm, is this a compliment for me? Why does it sound weird somehow? 🤨

Incident 3:

I was waiting outside the restaurant for the husband to settle the bill.

Out of the blue, I heard a voice, “Teacher Lee!”

I turned my head around and saw a family of unfamiliar faces. They must be viewers of my videos, I thought.

I was mildly surprised to be recognized with my mask on. They sure have good eyesight.

I flashed my signature SQ smile at them and greeted them. #quickreaction

The man of the family told me that he wished to invite me to his home for a Feng Shui audit. I nodded my head and told him to register when my forms opened.

And then…

His eyes fixated on mine, and asked repeatedly,

“Teacher, you…can see, right?”

The OS inside my mind started racing. I was wearing contact lenses and I had no problem seeing your faces. I was pretty sure that today was our first time meeting. There was no issue with my eyes.

So I naturally nodded my head and replied, “Yes, I can see!”

He kept a polite distance but his head inched forward a teeny bit, with his eyes relentlessly exploring mine.

He then mumbled, “I see that Teacher’s eyes are able to see.”

His face began to smile, as if his exploration had gotten him a satisfactory answer.

Looking at his expression, I felt baffled.

I only had many milia seeds under my eyes due to using the wrong eye cream in my youth, but apart from that, my eyes are perfectly fine.

After bidding farewell, as I took the escalator, my brain lit up as if it was struck by the five thunders.

I suddenly realised…

The male viewer was asking if I had the clairvoyant eye and could see the invisible!

My best friend's dad sent me Bonsai tree and a toolbox.

When I opened the box and used tools in my hands,
Dreaming eyes flashed through my head.

It was the sparkle of eyes like a little boy that made my heart flutter.

The way he loved himself.

The way you enjoyed those moments showed me the beauty of life.
