fell in love with Intercontinental steakhouse since many years ago, was really sad about their closing but some friends were telling me the same team reopened a new steakhouse inside 1881. finally got a chance to dine there last night BUT THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS WAY BELOW EXPECTATIONS ✖️✖️✖️: horrible food + super pricey + not so pretty decor + tables are super close to each other!!!! . . everything was super meh, from our steak tartare (really not special, I’ve had way better ones for sure), ro lobster 🦞 bisque / baked onion soup, and our so called signature USDA ribeye…..the worst was our apple crumble, couldn’t believe the apples 🍏 r sooooooo sour!!!! . . anyways what a huge disappointment and please go at your own risk 🔚🤷🏿‍♀️, also it’s almost impossible to locate the restaurant, we spent about 10 mins inside 1881 just to look for the frigging FWD house???? I’M BACK 💫 Last week was probably the craziest one I’ve had. Honestly idk how I managed to juggle moving out, packing, attending events, having personal life crisis and going to work everyday with the impending handover deadline ringing in my head every minute. There were sooo many obstacles and I’m so proud of myself for overcoming all of it. I remember reaching out to 5-6 movers and they all rejected me because their slots were full until I finally found @weload.sg. NOT SPONSORED I PAID FOR THE MOVE & I found them on Carousell cuz last resort and thank god for them. They were so prompt in replying all my questions and we got everything sorted within 30 minutes. The move + delivery was so professional and smooth (they wrapped my delicate furnitures) and even allowed me some time to get home before they delivered the items. Thank you for the amazing service and the peace of mind. And then 3 days before handover, I had my custom wallpaper removed and literally had a major FML moment when I saw how wrecked the wall became. Pic 2 for reference. I was like… there is NO WAY I can engage someone so last minute, esp on a SUNDAY to fix this and I ended up resorting to learning from YouTube and fixing it myself. 🥲 Pic 3 is the end result and I’m SO MF PROUD OF WHAT I DID OK!!! Like literally better than the dude who tried fixing it for me!! I used putty to level up all the holes, gave the whole wall 2 coats of paint whilst catching 3 spiders on the ceiling. I can officially put “Wall Fixer” in my resume. On top of all these, I was battling with my own personal life crisis where for the first time in my life, I lost my meaning/aim in life (nothing related to the studio 😂) and was at such a low point that I promised myself to NEVER let anyone have such power over me. I can safely say, I grew so much in 7 days, emotionally, mentally & physically and I’m so glad to come out stronger. Also, a major BIG THANK YOU to whoever that gave my furnitures a new lease of life. ❤️🙏🏻 Hope you guys enjoy the addition into your space and also I’m truly grateful for all the support y’all send my way whenever I post little snippets of my move. Now, back to the grind!
