If the weather holds up this week, my Aunt and I plan on climbing Pen Y Fan in the Breacon Beacons, apparently the highest mountain in Southern Britain 👀 Something tells me it won’t be quite the same as hiking red rocks over Boulder, but honestly I enjoy hiking anywhere that the temperature is at least double figures centigrade 😎

Last night at the BANFF Film Festival there were tonnes of inspiring videos of people going on crazy exploratory missions that test their will and physical abilities 🤯 I’m not sure I’ll ever fancy skiing down K2, but I do love the challenging outdoor stuff. Kinda blows my mind that anyone doesn’t and makes me wonder how so many of us humans have conditioned ourselves into a habit of laziness that we prioritise over adventure and testing ourselves 🤔

Gotta say it had me missing my weekend morning trail runs with the Alcoholic Athletes @jakemowson & @chrisjgreenough 🏃‍♂️🧗‍♂️ I can’t wait for that to become a regular fixture our lives again. In the meantime, I’ll just see what challenge the biggest hill I can find wherever I happen to be can throw at me 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have been getting the question of balance a lot- how do you balance work and family?
The truth is, I’m still figuring it out - Not everything is so black and white, clean cut, and as straight forward as we would like it. Above all else, I want Naomi to learn that mama loves her unconditionally, no matter what, and from there, she will then also feel safe enough to be exploratory, and become confident, independent, strong, creative, and all those wonderful qualities. I hope that she can see that in me as well, that I could model that for her, and that she could be inspired by me.

But I don’t think the true test is the balancing of actual time spent in the different departments, but how balanced you feel on the inside, and that internal mental balance looks different for everyone - and looks different on different days.

With her, I’m at my weakest, but also at my strongest.

店名的靈感，來自 1960 年代那股探索太空、未知領域以及廣闊大自然熱浪狂潮的 Mariner Brewing，是我們完成疫苗接種後，騎了來回 66 公里到此開喝的第一家精釀啤酒廠！

對於首次造訪的 Brewery，我們照例會先點 Beer Flight 啤酒拼盤來嚐鮮，只是這次有點貪心一開始就叫了兩個 flight 共 8 種不同的口味來試。

以下是一些粗略的心得分享，供有興趣的網友參考。

唉唉，喝酒最容易胖了啦，喝啤酒更是！

於是，針對愛喝啤酒又不想發胖，祈求魚與熊掌兼得的消費者（例如微胖陳太太），貼心的釀酒師因此研發了口感清爽且低熱量、低碳水化合物的啤酒，來因應市場需求。

Mariner Brewing 的 Low Gravity 系列就是這樣一款讓人忍不住要拍手鼓掌的佛心低卡路里啤酒啦！

分別喝了 Low Gravity Dry Hopped 跟 Low Gravity Mango ，我們都很喜歡 Dry Hopped 清爽的口感中，那股帶有噴香啤酒花還有甜瓜的味道，非常順口好喝 ；至於那個 Mango 口味的，嗯... 相較之下就遜色很多....

而每周都會更換不同口味的 Exploratory Batch ，我們這次喝到了Blue Gin Basil Sour 跟 Double Dry Hopped 這兩種驚喜！

Blue Gin Basil Sour 入喉後一波一波向你襲來的美妙風味，真的很討人愛。首先，你會得到藍莓的酸香，接著被琴酒擊中，最後以羅勒的淡淡清香結束。 整個過程都非常的清爽和酸甜，是一款相當適合夏天飲用的啤酒。

至於淺琥珀色的 Double Dry Hopped，在啤酒花香中揉合了醇厚熱帶水果的香氣，有些許的苦味，也不錯喝，只是我更愛 Low Gravity Dry Hopped 那一款。

開喝第二個 flight 時，我們開始吃餐點了，試酒的口感就不那麼純粹啦！先岔個題，我們點的 Yam Fries 炸地瓜條，酥脆焦香好好吃喔；Jamaican Patties 牙買加肉餅我們想要的牛肉口味沒有了，只剩下純素的，我不喜歡，所以只吃了兩口，其他的就被惜物的陳先生全面接收了。

Polaris Northeast IPA 這款北極星，本來是要搭配牙買加肉餅一起吃的，IPA的啤酒本來就口感偏苦，再加上純素的“肉餅”咖哩味蠻重的，組合起來真的很像一對怨偶，呃~ 在此我就不多說了...

Orion Lager 獵戶座啤酒， 一如其名是一般人肉眼就能看見的非常顯著的星座，就像 Lager 啤酒一樣，總是如此清爽宜人如此無害。

That Mystery Beer 那神秘的啤酒，是店家用來舉辦啤酒猜謎大賽的一款啤酒！ 讓消費者猜測此啤酒在製作時，使用了什麼樣的水果或啤酒花，還挺有趣的。只是，我們沒喝出來水果的風味，不過偏苦的啤酒花口感，我覺得很IPA....

最後一杯 Venture Blueberry Sour 是以大量產季藍莓釀造的啤酒，賣相誘人又好喝，酸甜多汁帶點奶油味的風味，相當迷人非常推薦！

以上是我落落長的心得，看到此還沒轉台的網友，想必也是喜歡偶爾小酌一番吧！一直覺得，住在精釀啤酒業盛行的BC省，真的很幸福，永遠有源源不絕的好喝啤酒供我們快樂的去探索。

（雖然我最近瘋狂想念冰涼涼的台啤生18...）
