I remember one particular afternoon when I was lying on my couch watching tutorial videos on Youtube.

I was enjoying myself immensely until I came across a video of that female entrepreneur whom I’d been envied with.

This was before I decoded my jealousy towards her and started working on what I desire. So I immediately felt envy rising up in my chest like hot air. My shoulders came up to my ears and I felt my entire body tightened.

As I noticed the presence of jealousy, I also noticed in my heart, I genuinely want to be happy for her success.

So in a moment of insanity (or genius), I sat up straight on my couch and started to literally cheer for her out loud:

“You got this girl!”, I hollered at the screen.

“I’m so proud of you!,” I threw my fists in the air.

“You deserve 10 times more than this!,” I bounced up and down in my pajamas.

At first, it felt ridiculous - I was alone in my apartment wearing pajamas. Even my cat got alarmed by the scene.

But after a while, it felt strangely good.

Grow by Admitting Mistakes

“He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy. [Ps. 32:3, 5; I John 1:8-10.] Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is the man who reverently and worshipfully fears [the Lord] at all times [regardless of circumstances], but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.” (Proverbs‬ ‭28:13-14‬ ‭AMPC‬‬)

Taking responsibility for mistakes does not mean bearing the condemnation and guilt. You can admit to being wrong and apologize, and be thankful that Jesus paid for your sin at the cross.

No need to dwell on the mistake and punish yourself, but even if there are consequences to admitting your mistakes, God is pleased when you are honest and will restore you for all the losses and hurt incurred.

Most importantly, you grow in character when you take the courageous and uncomfortable step of owning up to a mistake. This is a benefit that is priceless.

People will respect someone who dares to admit mistakes and flaws rather than someone who is cowardly; who always takes the easy way out which is to lie and escape responsibility.

The flesh will tempt you to conceal your mistakes for fear of punishment, but by the Holy Spirit, we can receive lion-like courage to tell the truth, even when it is difficult.

While the lie is small, put an end to it, and tell the truth. If it grows, the burden will be huge and the consequences will be worse too. Cut off the cancer before it spreads!

Keep studying God’s word and growing in your understanding of His ways. 我一向都很羨慕可以梳all-back馬尾的女子，覺得好美，但從小就給家人/相士/社會評為 - 頭太扁，額頭太窄，耳朵長得奇怪，擁有以上三大特點的我又怎會夠膽梳呢？只能默默地羨慕吧。

I have always envied women who can tie all-back ponytails, I think they are so beautiful. Since I was a child, I have heard from family members/fortune teller/society - my head is too flat, the forehead is too narrow, and the ears are strange. If you have the three above, how can you be brave enough to carry that ponytail? All I could do was envying it silently.
But in fact, you don't need to care about the values of this world, because everyone is unique, and the most important thing is to know how to appreciate the beauty of being unique. After all these years, I finally put aside all the bullshit and tied this all back ponytail, it really felt great.
