#Taiwan would like to support our allies in the #Caribbean in their joint statement on #EmancipationDay in #Belize, #StKittsAndNevis, #StLucia and #StVincentAndTheGrenadines and #IndependenceDay in #Haiti yesterday, calling for continuing efforts to sever the shackles that enslaved while embracing the ties of justice, integrity and democracy that bind. Taiwan shares these values and condemns historic and modern-day injustices. We’re keen to work with our allies and like-minded partners to ensure that #DemocracyPrevails, and that people are never dehumanized in this way again. Together we can fend off the threat of authoritarianism!

Possess your Inheritance at the Right Time

“When Pharaoh had let the people go, God didn’t lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, “Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt”; but God led the people around by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea; and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.” (Exodus‬ ‭13:17-18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Sometimes in hindsight, you may look back and wonder, “Lord, why did you let me take this huge detour and zig-zag path?” You could have just saved me lots of time by leading me in a straight line!”

If you have a thought like that, consider it more deeply. You will notice that back then, your faith and character was not as developed as now. God needed the extra time to work on you, to make the blessings that you are ready for now, safe for you.

A shortcut is not a good thing when it is accessed at the wrong time. The devil doesn’t mind giving you shortcuts as long as you destroy yourself in the process. When you are not ready for something, it will only do more harm to you than good.

If the children of Israel had tried the shorter route through the land of the Philistines, they would see the fierce war happening there and run back to Egypt which was ‘safe’ and familiar, only to be enslaved again.

If Pharaoh took them back as slaves, you can be sure that they will be taught a severe lesson—probably given a much heavier workload than before, and denial of whatever little comforts they used to have.

The Lord knows what you are ready for and what you aren’t capable of handling right now. Trust His timing, gladly receiving His teachings and training. You will avoid any pitfalls, and possess your inheritances at the right time when you are truly ready!

God works with His system of appointed times and seasons. Trying to insist on your own timing is what leads to heartbreak, disappointment, and unnecessary suffering. In “God’s Appointed Time”, you will learn how to flow with God’s system of times and seasons, to be fruitful and enjoy shalom peace in every season of life: https://bit.ly/god-appointed-time

Young people are very often the victims of human trafficking. But they are also passionate activists against it.

Because of the coronavirus, schools across Asia have been intermittently closed for over a year. But that has not diminished the activism of students determined to end modern-day slavery. According to the Global Slavery Index, 25 million women, men and children are enslaved in the Asia-Pacific region. Students from Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo and Noida, India are motivated to make it stop.

In a special Freedom Project 10th anniversary virtual conference, the students are joined by two anti-slavery activists -- Matt Friedman of the Mekong Club and Victoria Ahn of the Fair Employment Agency -- to discuss the factors that fuel labor exploitation.

They also determine an action plan to end forced labor, especially in the textile and seafood industries.

    Here are the highlights.
