A little bit of a rant today. Over the past few years, there have been INCREDIBLE camera announcements. Raw and 8K video in the hands of prosumers/consumers, 20-30FPS, new card types, 100mp, silent shooting and the list goes on. What an amazing time to live in and I can't wait for what Canon and other camera brands are going to come up with next. However, there are many people who don't seem to appreciate advancements and somewhat despise it. I think it's fine to dislike something but its important to be objective too. Everytime a new camera in announced you see "WHO CARES about (insert new feature). I've been shooting with my 12mp for 30 years and if you think you need this new camera, you need to work on your skills." This is a terrible way of looking at things and can be very discouraging to people. Do these people expect camera brands to keep the same tech for 90 years just because what they have is "good enough"? There are people who love cameras just as much as photography and just because you don't need the feature doesn't mean nobody does. Disliking and berating people for liking new camera tech just because you "don't care" is elitist and reeks of negativity and pride; two things an artist should NOT have. What can you do differently? 1) Don't comment if it isn't constructive. 2) Be respectful to people who are excited for the camera 3) Understand that things change evolve constantly I'm not saying that you HAVE to like everything that comes out. But don't flex just because you shoot with a 10 year old camera. Learn to encourage and give objective statements and you'll be a lot happier! Would love to know what you guys think as well. Am I just overthinking this? It's been bugging me for awhile 😕
