★ Sheryl Sandberg 在告別式上悼念其丈夫的一段話 ★

妳也許聽過Sheryl Sandberg 也許沒有聽過，但是今天要用最不願意的方法介紹她---因為她先生 David Goldberg 的猝死。

Sheryl Sandberg 是一個女權主義倡導者、同時也是Facebook 的營運長。2012 年被時代雜誌 (TIME) 選為百大人物，你也可能在書局裡看過她的書 Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead.

幾天前，因為這位成功的女士的先生的猝死，在Facebook上的許多名人 (luminary)，像Arianna Huffington, Mark Zuckerburg 等紛紛發文悼念與 Dave Goldberg 生前的互動。

Sheryl 在日前在Stanford University 的 Memorial Auditorium 舉辦的追悼會 (memorial service) 上，說了這樣一段充滿情感的悼詞 (eulogy):

"As we put the love of my life to rest today, we buried only his body. His spirit, his soul, his amazing ability to give is still with it. It （他的身體）lives on （在～持續活著）in the stories people are sharing of how he touched their lives, in the love that is visible in the eyes of our family and friends, in the spirit and resilience （生命韌性）of our children. Things will never be the same – but the world is better for the years my beloved husband lived."

"即便一切的一切都不會再一樣了，但是這個世界因為有他，而變得更美好," 最後她這樣說著。

曾經有一位前輩說過，人生的目標，其實很簡單，仔細聽聽告別式上人們說的eulogy就知道了。告別式上，我們常常敘述著內心深處我們最重視、認為最珍貴的東西。而人們常在告別式上，闡述著死者如何幫助人，如何愛他身邊的人，如何給予，如何無私 (selflessness)、謙虛 (self-effacement)、如何幫助他人完成夢想，如何是個好的聆聽者，如何......。

但諷刺的是，現代人卻窮極一生追求「金錢」、「名利」、「權位」這些到頭來沒有人會提及的東西。很少人在悼詞中敘述 "他生前買了五戶帝寶"、"他生前有存款很多錢"、"他生前是上市公司的執行長".......。

前輩說，這樣想，人生方向會清楚些。
