這艘是傳說中的「飛翔的荷蘭人」（The Flying Dutchman）。傳說中一艘永遠無法返鄉的幽靈船，註定在海上漂泊航行。

在船員的文獻中，飛翔的荷蘭人通常在遠距離被發現，有時還散發著幽靈般的光芒。據說如果有其他船隻向她打招呼，她的船員會試圖托人向陸地上或早已死去的人捎信。在海上傳說中，與這艘幽靈船相遇在航海者看來是毀滅的徵兆。

在荷蘭文裡「vliegend」是用來表示一種持續飛行的狀態，形容受詛的荷蘭人永遠飄流在海上，四處航行，卻始終無法靠岸的悲慘宿命。

Xuất hiện trong seri phim nổi tiếng “Cướp biển vùng Ca-ri-bê” trong phần 2 và 3 dưới sự chỉ huy của thuyền trưởng Davy Jones, con tàu “Người Hà Lan bay” (Flying Dutchman) có lẽ không xa lạ gì với khán giả mê phim này. Tuy nhiên, con tàu ấy được cho là có thật và là nỗi ám ảnh của các thủy thủ đi biển ở Hà Lan hàng trăm năm nay. Và đến hôm nay nó lại hiện diện trở lại với trận đấu 0-2 gặp CH SÉC =))
