2021 Goal: become a better founder.

Hi I’m Jack, and I’ll be taking over the AppWorks fan page in January.

Having founded and failed two startups before, I am on a mission to learn the attributes of a successful founder and how one can acquire these distinctions.

Working at AppWorks as an analyst, I get to observe how great founders in our portfolio operate, and by also working intensively with early/mid stage founders in our accelerator, it adds to my knowledge of what really contributes to a founder’s growth and progress over a period of time.

Over the next four weeks, I’ll be sharing with you 6 lessons that constitute to founders' success from both a VC’s perspective and my thoughts on how to accomplish them as a founder. So if you are an aspiring founder or would-be founder, be sure to like this post and check back on the 7th of January, I’ll be sharing my observation on the most fundamental step an early stage founder can make in order to become great.

一種焦慮的顏色
曾渲染過我行走
許多揣測的
道路，而你在
月光的深巷裡
寧靜地聽著
間奏的橫笛
梧桐樹和庭院
一畦又一畦的菊
有些疲倦，我們
隔著疲倦凝視：
　
不是陌生
也不熟悉

在學童當中，我也

Moving east, the shadow of a tree
becomes the trail of time
as we shift to the satinwood shade
autumn grass creeps across
our clothes. The lotus flowers
in the pond, a white turkey
perching on rotten wood
we are among school children
　
I used to deduce
a walking pavement dyed
with a fretful colour
now you are here
in the deep alleyway of moonlight
softly listening to the flute
reaching its interlude
there is a parasol tree, a garden
plot upon plot of chrysanthemums
dozing despite
our gaze
　
not strange
but not familiar

And we, we are
among school children—
not strange but not
familiar—the circles
in this game of morning
wider than the lotus pond
the singing voice more vivid than the spurt
though I do not quite understand
cannot quite understand how surging drops
can turn to falling rain
though anything scattered implies a sort of brokenness
and I did believe in brokenness once
　
I draw my distinctions
among school children
like that grey-haired Irishman. They grow
by clapping hands, their broken applause
could be lost in this meadow
of morning, where they may return
someday to search. And how
their searching may be nothing but
a disappointing comfort. Water sinks in the pond
the returning drops break too
flowing round the lotus cosmos
when is its turn, you ask me—
when will they surge?

among school children
you among school children with me
a fruit tree so glorious
I cannot hold it—a dancer
to the melody that I have lost
I noticed you have no names
I have no name
they are nameless too
　
They can be saplings
or hands holding up a prelude
you are snowy flowers
in the sky, your feet dart and transcend
and fuse into that upper register
I am bitter fruit, drooping to converge
I do not breathe, I disappear:

Can I say, QA is for sake of Reputation?

望子成龍，望女成鳳，這種心態我很明白。
無奈當父母急著孩子能考到好成績時，往往會忽略孩子的人品發展。
在風水上，哪一顆星能為忙碌的家長們蘊育出更優秀的孩子呢？
...............................

I can perfectly understand parents' mindset of wanting their offspring to be the best that they can be. I have been a foster aunt for three years and have spoken to probably more parents in my line of work, than you did.

Unfortunately, in the race for distinctions, parents often do not have enough time to develop a child's moral character. We sort of hope they will grow up fine, somehow. By emulating us, the parents, perhaps.

In my opinion, that is real risky. It's like tikam tikam. I know, because I come from a family where not every one of us grew up "just fine".
In Feng Shui, which Star can time-stretched parents engage to have an easier time, bringing up children of a better caliber?

Oh, so you are not a parent and you wonder if what I am going to say in this video is going to be useful to you?

Here's a sneak of this Star's powers:
I had benefited immensely from this Star's energies, after I activated it at home.

1. When I was down and out, this Star brought me hope by sending benefactors my way. My benefactors came in all shapes, sizes and colours, and through unexpected sources.

2. When I wanted to start my Metaphysics practice and my only option was to start writing on Facebook, this Star gave me inspiration that runs as voracious as the Yellow River. I have so much content swimming in my head, but not enough time to write everything down.
If you think I write very well, for someone who had not written so much English in almost five years, I got to thank my lucky Star. My writing five years ago was nowhere near this standard.
