The Perfect Father

““Now his elder son was in the field. As he came near to the house, he heard music and dancing. He called one of the servants to him, and asked what was going on. He said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and healthy.’ But he was angry, and would not go in. Therefore his father came out, and begged him.” (Luke‬ ‭15:25-28‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Isn’t it amazing that the father came out to beg the older son?

He didn’t have to. He could have punished him for disobeying, but this is not what the father is like.

The father represents Abba God.

When we go astray and don’t reflect His heart of grace, when we are petty and judgmental, He still lovingly and patiently comes to where we are and entreats us to join Him where He is.

““He said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’” (Luke‬ ‭15:31-32‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Abba God reminds us who we are: beloved sons of God. We are always with Him and all that belongs to Him is also ours.

When we are secure in our identity, we won’t be jealous of others. We will also find it easier to be like Him in how we lead our lives.

This transformation happens by receiving revelation—not by being threatened or rebuked.

If there are still character flaws that you hate about yourself, just know that God will release revelations that help you ascend to His level.

He comes down to where you are to gently bring you higher!

The Holy Spirit Will Never Leave You

“Now Yahweh’s Spirit departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from Yahweh troubled him. Saul’s servants said to him, “See now, an evil spirit from God troubles you.” (1 Samuel‬ ‭16:14-15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When Saul kept sinning against God by disobeying His instructions through prophet Samuel, the Holy Spirit departed from Saul. In its place, an evil spirit was allowed to pester Saul. God had removed His hand of protection from Saul and he no longer had the anointing of a king.

“Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all of my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Don’t throw me from your presence, and don’t take your holy Spirit from me.” (Psalms‬ ‭51:9-11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When David sinned by committing adultery with Bathsheba and conspired to murder her husband Uriah, God rebuked him through the prophet Nathan, and David was sorrowful. He wrote the words in the psalm above. David was so afraid that God would remove the Holy Spirit from him, just like He did to Saul.

Under the Law, if someone sins, the Holy Spirit can depart from him. The Law is a covenant whereby God’s presence, anointing, and blessings depended on man’s obedience.

I watched a sermon video the other day of Katherine Kuhlman preaching a nonsensical message, with “take not Your Holy Spirit from me” as a focus. She also said that if we desired the power of the Holy Spirit and to see miracles, we have to ‘pay the price’.

“Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.” So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”” (Hebrews‬ ‭13:5-6‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

As far as I know, God has promised to never leave or forsake us in any way. He will never remove His Holy Spirit from us.

On top of that, the blood that Jesus shed at the cross is what paid the full price for us to have the Holy Spirit and the fullness of His power. We could not pay the price and that is why Abba God sent Jesus to pay it on our behalf.

“I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever,— the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.” (John‬ ‭14:16-17‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Read Jesus’ words above. Under Grace, the Holy Spirit will “be with you forever”—not just until the next time you sin. It is not based on your obedience, but the obedience of Christ at the cross.

Do not let anyone bring you into the bondage of wrong believing, no matter how famous they are. We must know the Scriptures so that we will not be deceived.

Are we supposed to pluck our eyes out when we sin? Are we supposed to cut off our arms and legs like Jesus said? We need to understand the important reason why He said what He did. There is a purpose that you won’t understand if you have no context or background knowledge of the whole Bible.

The pie charts compare the percentages of energy consumed for various purposes and how much greenhouse gas is emitted by an average Australian family.
Overall, heating accounts for the highest energy consumption, yet the largest proportion of CO2 emitted belongs to water-heating.
42% of energy consumed in an Australian family is used for heating, which is the highest figure on the chart, followed by that of water-heating, at approximately 30%. In contrast, the figure for other appliances makes up merely 15% and the rest, including refrigeration, cooling and lighting, occupy trivial proportions, under 7% each.
In terms of greenhouse gas released, water-heating and other appliances are the major causes, with about 32% and 28% respectively. In comparison, the data of heating and refrigeration are lower, standing at about 15% each. Both cooling and lighting are responsible for the production of one-tenth of total gas emissions.

It is sometimes argued that punishments should be imposed on children so that they could differentiate between right and wrong in the early years of their lives. While I accept that punishments can sometimes have positive effects on children and therefore should be applied, I believe that parents and teachers should choose proper ways to punish their children.
Punishments could change awareness of children. Once they have wrong-doings such as disobeying or telling a lie, instant punishments are vital for them to realize their mistakes and eliminate bad behaviors. Parents could give their children warnings or light physical punishments if they are too stubborn. For instance, when I skipped classes at primary school, my mother asked me to walk to school rather than take a bus and do chores for a week. This not only helps me realize truancy is improper but also increases my self-discipline.
However, parents and teachers should choose appropriate ways to teach good behaviours to children. Harsh corporal punishments should not be used because they affect negatively children’s psychology, such as mental disorders and deep depressions, and pose a threat to their physical health. Instead, parents can opt for educational punishments such as doing housework, setting limit to recreational time, or reducing allowance to avoid money wasting for useless activities. Teachers, similarly, should not reinforce corporal punishment or humiliation but alternatively require them to write their wrongs to educate them about classroom’s disciplines or submit more homework.
In conclusion, it seems to me that punishment is of significance to educate children how to distinguish right from wrong, which punishments are applied should be carefully chosen.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is set in a near future that follows the nuclear destruction of the Middle East. The oil-producing nations of South America form the "Federation of the Americas" in response to the ensuing global economic crisis and quickly grow into a global superpower, swiftly invading and conquering Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico.

The game's main protagonists are the Ghosts, a force of U.S. Special Operations personnel trained to conduct clandestine missions behind enemy lines. The unit is led by retired U.S. Army Captain Elias Walker (Stephen Lang). He is joined by his sons Logan and David "Hesh" Walker (Brandon Routh), along with a trained German Shepherd named Riley, Captain Thomas A. Merrick (Jeffrey Pierce), and Sergeant Keegan P. Russ (Brian Bloom).

The game's main antagonist is Gabriel Rorke (Kevin Gage), the former leader of the Ghosts who works for the Federation after being captured and brainwashed by the Federation via torture and hallucinogens.


In 2017, U.S. Army officer Elias Walker tells his teenage sons Hesh and Logan the legend of how the Ghosts, an elite coalition of all U.S. Special Operations units, first appeared. Meanwhile, in space, the "Federation of the Americas" hijack the Orbital Defense Initiative (ODIN), an orbital superweapon that consists of a network of satellites that utilize kinetic bombardment. The Federation use it to destroy several cities in the southwestern United States. U.S. astronauts Baker and Mosley sacrifice themselves to self-destruct the space station and prevent ODIN from launching other payloads further inland. The Walker family narrowly escapes the destruction of San Diego, California.

Ten years later in 2027, the war between the United States and the Federation has been a bloody stalemate along a front that comprises the destroyed cities (known as "No Man's Land"), which has become a war of attrition as more Federation forces attempt to break the frontlines. However, the U.S. stands it ground, fighting near the former United States-Mexico border. Hesh and Logan are part of a U.S. special unit under the command of Elias and are accompanied by Riley, their loyal military-trained German Shepherd. During a mission into No Man's Land, they spot American Federation agent Gabriel Rorke interrogating Ghost member Ajax. The brothers meet and join Ghost members Thomas Merrick and Keegan Russ in their mission to rescue Ajax, but are unsuccessful as he is killed.

The brothers return to Santa Monica, California, where U.S. forces hold out against an assault from the Federation, and reunite with their father, who reveals himself as the leader of the Ghosts. Recruiting his sons into the Ghosts, Elias tells them about how Rorke was the Ghosts' previous commanding officer until Elias was forced to abandon him during a successful mission in Caracas to assassinate former Federation leader, Diego Almagro. The Federation captured and brainwashed Rorke, and are now using him to hunt down the Ghosts.

The Ghosts assault Rorke's base and capture him, but Federation forces destroy their plane and rescue him. The team lands in the Yucatán Peninsula, where they witness the launch of a mysterious Federation missile. The Ghosts infiltrate a Federation base and discover plans to create a new superweapon. Constructing a counter-attack, the Ghosts make significant gains against the Federation, successfully destroying their Atlas oil platform in Antarctica and sinking a destroyer guarding the Brazilian coast. The team then breaks into a Federation laboratory and discovers that the Federation reverse-engineered ODIN into their own orbital bombardment system named LOKI.

After destroying a Federation factory in Rio de Janeiro, the Ghosts regroup at a safehouse in Las Vegas, but are captured by Rorke, who executes Elias. In a last-ditch effort, the U.S. pools all its remaining forces in a synchronized all-out assault. A team of soldiers board a shuttle and take over the Federation space center in the Atacama Desert, while forces in space take over the Federation space station. They seize control of LOKI and decimate Federation forces by turning its weapons on them. Hesh and Logan then pursue Rorke to avenge their father, disobeying Merrick's orders. Despite being shot by Logan and left to drown, Rorke survives the encounter and captures Logan, aiming to try and brainwash him into becoming a fellow Federation agent.

In a post-credits scene, Logan is seen being kept inside a pit in the jungle, presumably going through the same torture methods that Rorke went through.
