山居歲月 度假天堂《1,000 Feet Closer to Heaven》

州警大人一向喜歡大自然，因此，今年的生日假期，克萊兒特地選擇隱密的《Mountain Home Lodge 山居假期小木屋》。隱身在《Alpine Valley 阿爾潘恩谷》的山居假期小木屋，位處德國村 Leavenworth 人跡罕至的山谷中。放眼望去，盡是一片片綠油油的草原。Mountain Home Lodge 佇立在隨風搖曳的柔軟綠草原，似乎一望無際。四周圍繞長滿翠綠松樹的《Stuart Range 斯圖爾特山脈》。綿延不絕的山脈如大自然的高牆，將小木屋與外界隔絕。天空則是一片近乎刺眼的湛藍，不時漂浮幾縷雲朵。

登記入住後，親切的旅店老闆「凱西」，親自帶著兩人到最高樓層，仔細介紹周遭環境。州警大人與克萊兒入住《The Hideaway 隱居山林小屋》。以原木打造的客房以及典雅的木製傢俱，將小屋裝飾得就像豪華版的樹屋。此房型設有私人陽台，可供觀景。推開大片玻璃門，步入紅木陽台，就可欣賞蒼鬱濃密的山景。深吸一口氣，松香瀰漫，沁人心脾。

入夜後，山谷氣溫陡然驟降。在無光害夜空的襯托下，漫天星斗一覽無遺。克萊兒半夜突然被吵醒。醒來才發現，窗外風聲颯颯，吹得樹葉窸窣作響。山林松樹低語呢喃，有時輕柔、有時狂暴。克萊兒起身披上毛毯，忍不住打了個哆嗦，趕緊把陽台的玻璃門關緊。
