Kembali Semula ke Jakarta

Alhamdulillah, kembali semula ke Jakarta untuk majlis makan malam di sini sore nanti dan perbincangan panel besok hari sebelum berangkat ke Abu Dhabi untuk mesyuarat di Bank Negara Abu Dhabi pagi Rabu.

Bersua dengan Dato Roslan Hamid seorang tokoh usahawan. Buat pertama kali kami berjumpa secara fizikal bukan di Malaysia tetapi di luar negara. Ini kerap berlaku.

Beliau menjemput saya untuk membuat satu pembentangan utama tentang ekonomi Syariah di Nusantara yang akan berlangsung di Jakarta dengan tetamu kehormat adalah Bapak Anies Beswadan, GabenorJakarta. Saya akan cuba cari satu hari untuk berada di Jakarta untuk program yang pasti berimpak tinggi.

Apabila sebahagian pihak dunia seperi Brexit dan pentadbiran Trump ingin mengambil pendekatan pengasingan dan isolationist, masyarakat dunia dan nusantara tidak sepatutnya terperangkap dalam polisi mengasingkan diri. Polisi memisahkan diri dan menjadikan negara dan kaum serta masyarakat wujud secara sebuah pulau yang terasing adalah poliso kuno dan mungkin berbentuk perkauman dan retorik. Memang kalau kita menjadikan polisi kita terbuka, kita kena bijak dan berani melakukan engagement. Orang yang tak berani dan mampu untuk engage, akan disengage. There is no brainer to disengage. Al-Quran diturunkan untuk agenda engagement dan bukan disengagement.

Kemudian saya disapa oleh dua orang muda. Nazrin (dalam foto) adalah bekas pelajar USIM (ekonomi) dan Shami (tiada dalam foto) adalah bekas pelajar UIA (ekonomi). Apa mereka buat di sini? Mereka sudah ada bisnes di Indonesia. Hebat.

Alangkah baik kalau semua IPTA memberikan fokus lebih sedikit untuk mengupayakan graduan kita menjadi lebih kompetitif pertamanya untuk bekerja sendiri dan kedua bekerja di luar negara. Ukuran negara maju ialah mereka boleh 'menjual' produk dan teknologi mereka dan juga sumber tenaga.

Saya suka tenguk ramai rakyat Malaysia sanggup mengambil risiko membina kemahiran diri & membina kredential diri tanpa tongkat sakti dan subsidi. Bukan senang nak bina ekosistem perekonomian....mesti tuntas, berskala tinggi dan bebas dari talian hayat penaung tertentu.

Di mana ekosistem perekonomian masyarakat kita?

In Wing Chung, there is a term "Loi Lao Hoi Sung, Lat Sao Jik Chung (also spelled as Loi Lau Hoi Sung, Lat Sau Jik Chung). Dan Lok explains it means is when a hand attack comes you want it to come and stay and then you want to hit. When they disengage you want to hit.

If you Do Martial Arts have you ever made use of techniques like this.

Huen Sao is ideally used to change position whilst still controlling your attacker's arm. For example, if you have received a punch and covered on the inside (where you would be vulnerable to more attacks), you can use Huen Sau to move to the outside away from your attacker's other arm without losing contact with the original arm

Trapping is not exclusive to JKD, but it certainly isn’t very common in most martial arts.

In case you aren’t familiar with what I’m talking about, trapping is the art of using your arms to nullify one of your opponent’s limbs so that he can’t use it to hit or to block. This allows you to then strike into that open line (that’s a general definition). It’s also called Hand Immobilization Attack (although you can also immobilize other parts of the body, too, using the same concept).

In short, trapping basically means “grabbing to hit”.
