一生懸命働くことを「work hard」と表現することが一般的だと思いますが、ネイティブの会話では他にも様々な言い方が存在します。そこで今回は、アメリカ人の日常会話で良く使われている口語的な表現を２つご紹介します。

1) Work one's tail off
→「一生懸命働く / 身を粉にして働く」

休む間もなく必死に働くことを「Work one's tail off」と表します。アメリカ人同士の日常会話では、tail（しっぽ）をbutt/ass（お尻）に置き換えて、「Work one's butt off」や「Work one's ass off」と表現することもよくありますが、assはちょっと下品な響があるので、「Work one's ass off」は仲の良い相手に対してのみ使うようにしましょう。Tailとbuttは、どのようなシチュエーションで使っても問題ありません。
　
＜例文＞
　　
He is working his tail off!
（彼は一生懸命働いている。）
　
I worked my butt off to finish it in time.
（時間内に仕上げるために身を粉にして働きました。）
　
We worked our asses off this month.

このスライムはピーターパン症候群からヒントを得て思いつきました。
でも、名前の通り、このスライムの主人公はピーターを待つモブです。

この主人公モブは、もちろんモラトリアム期にある若者です。
彼はとても真面目な性格で、常に「ちゃんとしなきゃ！」と思っています。
責任感が強いので、嫌なことにも基本的には正面から向き合います。
だから、本当は大人になりたくないけれど、息を止めて前に進みます。

しかし、ある時彼の本能が音をあげました。

「もう辛い！自分のことを知る人間が誰もいない場所へ逃げ出したい！」
「誰でもいいから僕のことをさらってくれよ！」

そんな切実すぎる現実逃避を想って作ったスライムです。

皆様にも、時には現実から逃げたくなることがあると思います。
でも、そんな時に本当にピーターが迎えにきてくれることはないですよね。
だから、代わりに私がこのスライムで皆様を非現実へと誘いたいです。

このスライムはソフトタイプのプラスチックスノーを使った柔らかい触り心地のスノーフィズスライムです。
机にしっかり張り付き、よく伸びます。
薄めの膜が張って、小気味のいい軽い音が楽しめます。
ハードのスノーに引けを取らない音の鳴りやすさです。
手離れもとても良くてベタつきません。
もちよすらいむ史上1番ノンストレスなフィズに仕上がりました。
刺激はほぼ無いのに、凸凹している手触りも心地いいと思われます。
個人的にすごくお気に入りのレシピです！

I made this slime with the idea of serious escapism.

But at that time, Peter doesn't really come to pick us up.
So, instead of him, I invite you to unreality with this slime.

This slime is a soft-touch snow fizz slime that contains soft plastic snow.
It sticks well to the desk and stretches well.
With a thin film, you can enjoy a nice and light sound.
It is as easy to make bubble sounds as hard snow.
It is easy to peel off from your hands and is not sticky.
It is the most stress-free fizz in the history of mochiyo slime.
It's not tingling, but it's also bumpy to the touch.
Personally, this is my favorite recipe!

This slime has the magic of being able to return to the child while touching it.

グミグルーをメインにしてお気に入りのグルーを少しブレンドしました。

容器の中でつつくのが楽しいムニムニスライムです。
パテ風なので手離れ良好で、片手で遊びやすいです。
大きくてウェットなバブル音が鳴ってくれます。
ムニムニだけどタッピングも結構楽しいテクスチャーです。

美しいクリアスライムは、海みたいな色です。

真面目な事務員の女の子が純粋な恋をしてたら可愛いですよね。

……ってことだけを考えて作ったスライムです笑
昨日の動画はあんなに尖っていたのに、今日はオフィスラブに夢見てて情緒が迷子気味ですが、それでこそモラトリアム期の若者だと自分でゆうてます()

このスライムは空気が入ると冷えピタに見えてきます。
恋のお熱にすかさず冷えピタ！っつってね()

机にしっかり張り付くし、伸びも良好です。
