A primary school teacher was deregistered by the Hong Kong Education Bureau, which accused him of presenting a distorted picture of historical events including the First Opium War, hence ruled him an incompetent teacher.

教育局指一名小學常識科教師在教授歷史事件時「內容失實，顛倒是非」，包括指英國是「為了消滅中國內的鴉片而發動鴉片戰爭」等，稱該名教師雖然並非有計劃誤導學生，但並不稱職，決定取消其教師註冊。

同一日英國三大新聞傳媒會報導，香港教育制度有乜辦法唔國際知名吖？
教師因為括弧「講下獨立」（"for talking about independence"、"promoting Hong Kong independence"或者"pro-independence propaganda"）被永久吊銷資格，咁就宣揚到全英國都知，啲讀者可能會覺得香港嘅教育局好保護學童嘅思想呢？
所以某啲人話英國係沒落廢國可能係無錯嘅，有乜理由講蘇格蘭獨立唔拉，仲可以討論甚至公投，成立政黨宣揚威爾斯獨立亦無事，大大力講北愛脫離英國亦得，人（由其是學生）點可以有獨立思考討論空間㗎？結果咪沒落囉！
