Surprise...the long hair has finally had a trim! To usher in the new school year, I’ve decided to go with a classic look - I can definitely say that I’m feeling fresher with this new look now. Back-to-school ready? Check! ✅
Now that school has started once more, I’ve had to set aside a little less time for things like my poetry, songwriting, and other rekindled passions. This school year, I enter Fourths, or Year 10 - the fourth year of secondary school here in the UK. This term marks the start of my journey into the IGCSE course, which I’ll be examined in at the end of my next academic year. In total, I’m now studying 9 subjects: English, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Art, Drama, French, Latin and Ancient Greek. Yep, you read that right, I’m taking 3 languages as electives for my IGCSEs! 🤩
Now that the first week of school has passed, I’ve been able to do a few interesting things to kick off everything. The most notable one so far is that I have decided to audition for the Junior and Senior Production. Since I’m in Fourths, this year I can choose to audition for both the Junior and Senior Production. The Junior Production is an original play titled ‘Burn’, and for the Senior, it’s none other than the classic ‘Pride and Prejudice’! So far, I’ve auditioned for the Senior Production, and my audition for the Junior Production is this week - wish me luck! ✨
But honestly, that’s not all I’m excited about. Although these next two years will be incredibly busy now that we’re working towards our IGCSEs, I have a feeling that all of the academic and co-curricular parts of my school life now will prove to be invigorating and full of exciting opportunities. Here’s to a new academic year! 🙌🏻

146 PELAJAR YANG MEMERLUKAN TERIMA KURNIAAN BANTUAN MAKANAN DARIPADA SULTAN JOHOR
Seramai 146 pelajar Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Infant Jesus Convent Johor Bahru dari keluarga B40 menerima kurniaan bantuan makanan daripada DYMM Sultan Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
Bantuan disampaikan wakil Baginda, Yang Berhormat Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong kepada Pengetua sekolah berkenaan, Puan Ande Noor Munawara Bachok pada hari ini (25 Ogos).
Daripada jumlah penerima bantuan, seramai 115 keluarga merupakan dari golongan B40, manakala 30 keluarga terjejas pendapatan apabila ketua keluarga hilang pekerjaan, manakala sebuah lagi keluarga merupakan ibu tunggal yang mengidap angin ahmar.
Puan Ande Noor Munawara turut merakamkan setinggi-tinggi kasih kepada DYMM Sultan Johor diatas kurniaan bantuan makanan kepada keluarga pelajar-pelajar yang terkesan akibat pandemik COVID-19.
SMK Infant Jesus Convent Johor Bahru adalah sekolah harian di bawah pentadbiran Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Johor Bahru, dan merupakan sekolah perempuan yang pertama dibuka pada tahun 1925.
Tapak tanah di mana sekolah ini berada sekarang merupakan kurniaan Almarhum Sultan Sir Ibrahim pada tahun 1924 kepada I.J. Sisters.
Sejak mula beroperasi, sekolah ini telah mencatat kejayaan dan pencapaian dalam pelbagai bidang merangkumi akademik, kokurikulum dan kemenjadian murid.
Antara kenamaan yang pernah bersekolah di sekolah ini termasuk Allahyarhamah Toh Puan Rahah Mohamed Noah, penulis tersohor Adibah Amin, dan pemenang Masterchef Australia tahun 2017, Diana Chan.

146 I.J. CONVENT JOHOR BAHRU STUDENTS IN NEED RECEIVE FOOD AID FROM SULTAN OF JOHOR
146 students of SMK Infant Jesus Convent Johor Bahru from families in need have received food aid from HM The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.
The aid was presented by His Majesty’s representative, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong to the school’s Principal, Puan Ande Noor Munawara Bachok today (25 Aug).
The recipients consisted of 115 families from the B40 category, 30 families who have been impacted by loss of income and one family whose single mother suffers from stroke.
Puan Ande Noor Munawara expressed her sincere gratitude on behalf of the families to HM Sultan Ibrahim for sending aid to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
SMK I.J. Convent Johor Bahru is under the purview of the Johor Bahru District Education Office and was the first girls school established in the district in 1925.
The plot of land where the school stands was donated in 1924 to the I.J. Sisters by Almarhum Sultan Sir Ibrahim.
The school has a long history of excellence, producing bright students with high academic and co-curricular achievements.
Among the names who were educated here include the late Toh Puan Rahah Mohamed Noah, esteemed writer Adibah Amin and Masterchef Australia 2017 winner, Diana Chan.

【7.7評議會事件 一個月】港大不承認學生會 國安搜校園 收回綜合大樓 禁止學生踏入校園
7月7日評議會事件後，先後引來一連串風波，引起各界迴響。
7月8日：政府部門及親中組織譴責評議會
政府部門包括保安局和教育局以及親中組織《香港政研會》及《DQ行動組》譴責評議會。
7月9日：評議會宣佈撤回相關議案並致歉請辭
評議會成員就7月7日事件召開記者會宣布撤回相關議案及致歉，全體中央幹事及部份評議員亦宣布請辭。
7月10日：評議會通過撤回哀悼議案
評議會於第四次緊急會議中通過撤回議案，並接納大批評議員辭職，包括學生會中央幹事、普選評議員一二、文化聯會、學社聯會及體育聯會之會長及代表。
7月13日：港大宣佈不再承認學生會在校內的角色
香港大學經電郵發表聲明再次強烈譴責評議會，並宣佈不再承認學生會的校內角色。聲明中亦表示校方會嚴肅調查是次事件，視乎情況對涉事學生作「進一步處理」。
7月14日：港大要求學生會交出綜合大樓所有權
香港大學校舍事務委員會主席羅哲基發送電郵要求學生會於7日內，即7月21日前放棄學生會綜合大樓的所有權。學會及學生組織須向校舍事務委員會註冊，並與大學就條款及細則作協議後方可繼續使用大樓內的設施。
7月16日：警方國安處人員到香港大學搜查
警方國安處人員持法庭搜查令到香港大學學生會大樓、校園電視工作室及學苑辦公室蒐證，指調查一宗涉嫌違反國安法第二十七條「宣揚恐怖主義、煽動實施恐怖活動」案件。
7月21日：校方正式收回學生會綜合大樓
校方收回學生會綜合大樓，更換所有門鎖，鑲嵌在學生會綜合大樓外的「香港大學學生會」字樣亦被拆除，而貼在玻璃門上的字樣「香港大學學生會」則被「香港大學」的字樣取代。學生會合作社及學生會辦公室停止營運至另行通知。
7月30日：CCSO成立
校方成立由教務處管轄的Co-Curricular Support Office (CCSO) 處理學生會屬會與學生組織借用資源及場地事宜，並舉行諮詢會議交代其角色與功能，期間以繼父及繼子形容與學生會屬會之關係。
8月2日：Cedars終止與迎新事務委員會合作
香港大學學生發展及資源中心（Cedars）終止與學生會評議會迎新事務委員會有關2021年度新生註冊日之合作，指將直接負責參與新生註冊日的屬會之安排及管理。
8月4日：校委會發表聲明宣佈禁止涉事學生進入校園
香港大學校務委員會發表聲明禁止所有參與7月7日評議會會議的學生進入校園範圍及使用大學設施和服務直至另行通告。同日，校方高層發送電郵約見涉事學生，而校長張翔亦邀請各舍堂及院會代表共進早餐。
8月4日：張達明辭任校委會成員
港大法律學院首席講師張達明對校委會的決議感到難過，並表明當晚已辭任校委會成員。張指校委會在未讓學生向紀律委員會申辯的情況下作此決定，基本上是「越權」。
8月5日：畢業生發起聯署
一眾港大畢業生發起聯署，指基於程序及公平性問題，要求校委會撤銷對學生會評議會學生的處分，並就相關問題與校方溝通。
聯署中引用多條《香港大學條例》的規程，當中指出紀律委員會為就任何針對學生的投訴作調查及裁決的權力單位，而校委會不得受理任何屬於紀律委員會管轄範圍內的投訴及作裁決，因此就以上條文得出的合理解讀只能是校委會沒有任何權力去對學生作直接處分，否則構成越權（ultra vires）。校委會不召開紀律委員會的做法「明顯褫奪學生的答辦權及獲得法律諮詢的機會，違反普通法原則」。
另外，聯署中亦指出規程中對於學生上訴的權利有明確程序保障（procedural safeguard），學生利益在上訴獲得裁定前不受影響，因此校委會的處罰「明顯有違規程序中訂明的正當程序（due process）」
8月5日：校董會成員發公開信
七名香港大學校董會成員包括趙潔儀、麥東榮、陳家健、陳紹斌、賴振鴻、陳和順及黎雋維向香港大學校委會發公開信，要求校委會撤回以上決定並嚴格按照香港大學條例之相關章程處理是次事年。
聲明中引用《香港大學條例》規程XXXI第2(1)段，並指出是次被處分的學生沒有觸犯條列中列出的15種大學處理學生違反紀律的行為。條例當中亦列明即使學生被法庭裁定觸犯罪行，有關個案亦應由紀律委員會按程序處理，不必由校委會「越俎代庖」，且警方仍在調查是次事件，至今沒有學生被檢控。
聲明末指作為校董會成員，認為上述決定在法理上不恰當，在程序上亦有違自然公義原則，批評校委會以「風險管理」為由剝奪學生學習的機會，亦不符合大眾對大學的教育風範之期望，故要求校委會撤回較早前所採取的處分決定，及嚴格按照相關章程處理事件。
8月6日至7日凌晨：校方未有就公開信作進一步回應
