THE #EOSR3 has finally landed and ya know your boy was one of the first few people in Malaysia to actually try out the camera in person!! Such an opportunity!! Here are the brief specs: - 24mp BSI Stacked CMOS sensor - 30fps electronic shutter with full AF/AE raw - Eye control AF - 4K video up to 120p - internal raw video up to 6k 60p - CLog3 - people, animal and vehicle subject tracking Also had to outfit it with a @kondorblue body cap at the end. Will posting more about the camera throughout the week so feel free to ask any questions and I’ll try my best to answer them based on my hands on with the camera. No test images/video yet but I hope to borrow the camera soon! New firmware update for the Canon 1Dx Mark iii!! (Didn’t realise it had been out for awhile) Been waiting for this update ever since it was announced. Adds CLog3 to the camera which makes this a much better B-Cam to my C70. CLog3 is a much more refined log format compared to the basic Clog in the camera. Really excited to see how these two cameras match. Additionally, the firmware also allows video to be recorded to BOTH cards which was not possible before this. The 1Dx Mark iii just became a much more reliable video camera. It also add support for CF Express.. 2.0? Which I’m definitely confused at this point. If anyone could explain the difference, that would be helpful! Edit: realised the last photo shows record to multiple cards for photo. 😅 was too excited to post this that I took the wrong one. For all you Canon C70 owners, don’t forget to update your firmware! Canon just dropped the first firmware update for the camera and it adds quite a number of features! My personal favourite is adding the whole area AF where you can now touch to track, very similar to how current mirrorless/DSLR cameras function. This solves my biggest gripe of the camera having a less user friendly AF implementation. Another added feature is being able to output Luts over HDMI. If you’ve ever tried outputting Clog over hdmi, you’ll know you can only preview the log image with no clout view assist. This update solves that and I can now shoot Clog3 if I need to livestream and record simultaneously. Canon also updated the list of Canon lenses that will fully utilise DPAF when adapted using the 0.71x adapter. Important note: you need to update the adapter SEPARATELY. The update of the adapter is not the same as the update for the camera. Brilliant updates that further solidify the C70 as a workhorse of a camera! (Cage is from @kondorblue) #canonc70
