FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies (45-48) put on a hitting clinic against the division leading Sacramento River Cats (53-39), winning by a score of 14-2 Tuesday night at Chukchansi Park.....Mitch Lively gets the WIN.
Starter Mitch Lively (W; 2 ER/5.0 IP) improved his record to 6-4 on the year, the last two wins coming against the River Cats. He overcame the initial barrage in the first to deliver five solid innings, allowing the only two Sacramento runs.

Mitch Lively leads Fresno to series win against Iowa

FRESNO, Calif. - Mitch Lively is beginning to enjoy the month of June. The right-hander, who returned to the rotation on June 1, turned in his third quality start of the season to propel the Fresno Grizzlies (36-32) to a 5-2 win over the Iowa Cubs (33-31) Thursday night at Chukchansi Park. The win gives the Grizzlies their first series victory over the Cubs since 2009 and brings them within 2.5 games of first place Sacramento....A solo homer from Iowa's Chris Valaika in the sixth was the only answer Iowa had to the Grizzlies four-run fifth, as Lively turned in a scoreless seventh and two relievers followed to pitch scoreless innings to cap the series victory.

Lively (W, 4-3) retired nine straight from the third-sixth until surrendering a two-out homer to Valaika on a 0-1 pitch. He did not walk a batter for a second consecutive start on way to allowing two runs on six hits over a season-high seven innings.

STATS: Wins: 4, Loss: 3, Balls: 0, Strike Outs: 5, Hits: 6, Runs: 2, ERA: 5.75, WHIP: 1.19, ....Mitch is now 3rd overall on the Leader Board for most Strike Outs and 4th for Total Wins.

09/02/2013: Fresno, Ca.---The Fresno Grizzlies (68-75) went into hibernation on a good note with 4-3 come-from-behind win on Monday afternoon at Chukchansi Park over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (67-76)...Fresno plated runs in the second, and the fifth courtesy of Fresno right-handed pitcher Mitch Lively who in each of those innings had RBI singles to left field. At the plate this year, Lively hit .368 with two doubles, and five RBI's. On the hill on Monday he worked six innings, three hits, two runs (both earned), he walked one, and struck out five. He figured a no-decision.
The winning pitcher for Fresno was right-hander Steve Edlefsen (2-2) by vertue of a scorless eighth inning....
