Good morning beautiful souls and salam Nuzul Quran. Today during Nuzul Al-Quran we commemorate the day when the words of the Qur’an were first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on the 17th day of the holy month of Ramadan when the Angel Jibrail (Gabriel) had come to the Prophet with the first lines of Surah Al-Alaq (The Clot) as he was sitting in a cave on Mount Hira’. “Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- Taught man that which he knew not.“ (96:1-5) Me, myself, I always stress that it’s so important to read tafseer when reading the Quran if possible. Know what you’re reading and let it seep into your heart. The first time I began to truly want to read the Quran I was so lost in a time of my life and had an empty void in my heart. I read the words of the Quran late one night and couldn’t put it down till dawn approached. The Quran was like an ointment that soothed my cut that gave me relief.
