Hmm. This is kind of what it has been like doing 300hours of virtual learning with @jason_crandell . I don't really have much proper furniture at home but I'm glad I have a bed that I basically roll off from for all the 7am Zoom calls. On some days it's followed by a 3 hour practice and lectures. On other days it's just followed by me crawling back to bed. I loved every part of this because I've learnt so much about our bodies and so much more that extended beyond our bodies. It's often a struggle for me to share enough beyond physical movements in class so here are some of my favourite lessons: We're not really using our bodies to do a pose in yoga. We're really using the pose to understand our bodies a little bit more and work it in a way that would benefit it. Don't work from a deficit. Composing ourselves before taking the next step often leads to a higher level of efficiency and effectiveness. Learning how to regulate our breath and our thoughts during challenging moments on the mat is an important skill. It prepares us for similar moments when we're off the mat. Doing something (a pose, a class, a good deed,) for external validation often feeds our insecurities. When your self worth is highly dependent on external factors, it's really difficult to be truly happy. It's easy to find opinions that support our views but without confusion /going through turbulence, there will be a lack of growth. Learn how to respect differences in opinions. When you're really overwhelmed just go grab a piece of chocolate and take a break. It's fine.
