一座巨大的機庫豎立於哈薩克的荒漠中，長眠其中的是兩架披著厚厚塵土的太空梭……

跟著俄羅斯攝影師亞歷山大．考納斯（Alexander Kaunas）進入位於拜科努爾太空發射場（Baikonur Cosmodrome）的一處廢棄機庫內，並揭開前蘇聯小鳥號（Ptichka）太空梭和OK-MT地面試驗機的現狀。

在前蘇聯的「暴風雪太空梭計畫」中，只有暴風雪號（Buran）於1988年11月15日成功發射，但在首飛後，當局因缺乏資金及政局因數而把計畫暫時擱置，並於1993年6月30日宣布計畫全面終止。

於1988年開始建造的小鳥號太空梭原本是此計畫中第二架太空梭，卻也因此永遠無法完工……
