K I N D N E S S ❤️ A D V E N T ✨ Day 9: Show kindness to yourself and give yourself the gift of self-care. . It’s taken me 36 years to learn this and I’m still stumbling and bumbling my way through it. This idea that we need to rest and be still, to pause and refuel, to nurture and nourish. . It’s something so rarely role-modeled or spoken about in our world of go-go-go, of activities and never ending goals, of achievement and success so today, we took time to honor caring for ourselves. . We played and explored and adventured, we had the most special visitor and we napped and ordered dessert and set up a sensory table in the middle of our hallway and filled it up w the prettiest water beads and played and played and played somemore. . We ate yummy mama food that only mamas make because it’s a cornucopia of veggies and favorites all thrown in together and we walked and danced and cuddled. . We did nothing and everything and it was the very best mama and Ella Grace day. . At night we revisited our kindness advent again, wanting to highlight to her what a break is and why it’s important in hopes that someday when she grows up to be a mama or a leader or a changemaker that she’ll always honor herself, that she won’t think twice the way the mamas of our generation guiltily do and it is a reminder to practice practice practice until it is just her way of life. . 上禮拜回到我跟 @anna_baatz 一年半前的第一次約會的咖啡店🥰⁣ ⁣ 其實她第一次約會對我的印象不太好，因為我不是她的菜😅但各位知道我很帥，帥到她一定要跟我出來第二次約會😎從第二次約會到現在，跟Anna在一起真的沒有一天會無聊。⁣ ⁣ 這個故事告訴你:) 給很煩、很ㄎㄧㄤ、很大聲的ABC一個機會～你永遠都不知道會發生什麼事😉⁣ ⁣ —————————————————⁣———— ⁣ Went back to the cafe @anna_baatz and I had our first date at way back a year and a half ago 🥰 ⁣ ⁣ She actually wasn’t impressed after that date cause I’m not her type at all 😅 But you know ya boy charmed her to agree to meet again and it’s been a crazy journey ever since! ⁣ ⁣ Moral of the story: Give loud, bumbling foreigners a chance; you never know what may happen 😉

Here is a beautiful Malaysian story. Her name is Lalitha. I lost my wallet yesterday, leaving it on top of my car while pumping petrol & drove off with the wallet on top of my car. So, it must've fallen off somewhere along the road right. I only realised it was missing about an hour later & was super frantic when I realised. Phoebe was with me & we both started praying in the car. Retraced my steps back to the petrol station. Had Phoebe & myself ask every petrol attendant, CCTV footage & checked all the longkangs, including walking 1 km on the road ahead to look for it. Nothing. My heart sank. After an hour of asking & looking, we accepted it was gone & did all the necessary (calling the banks to cancel the cards, filing a police report). Needless to say, our mood was just bleh & I was particularly frustrated. Today, as I was preparing to go & make a new IC, I received a call from my insurance company from this lady called Aina & she asked whether I lost my wallet yesterday. I said yes & asked how did she know? Well, Lalitha tried every way (Facebook, Messenger, insurance company, calling the stamp collection kopitiam card) in an effort to reach me. She called the insurance company, & Aina who was professional not to reveal my details agreed to take Lalita's number & pass it to me so that I can call Lalita. I took Lalita's number down & thanked Aina for facilitating this which was out of her job scope. I called the number Aina gave me & Lalita picked up. She told me the whole story of how she found my wallet exactly along the road after the petrol station & have been doing everything to reach me. She even offered to come & pass it back to me. Obviously, I said no and I would come. Mind you, she mentioned she was a motorcyclist. We agreed to meet at the petrol station where it all happened. Today evening, I went to meet her to collect my wallet. She came bumbling on her humble motorcycle. She handed over my wallet to me, with everything intact. I thanked her profusely & offered her a reward. She rejected it but I insisted. And just like that, I have my wallet back. So from one Malaysian to another, thank you Lalitha and Aina.
