Today marks my 15th birthday. One year older! And somehow, for the first time in all my 15 years, I find myself at a loss for words. I look at the past events, all the things I’ve done, I’ve experienced, and I’ve achieved these last few years, combined with all the blessings I’ve received along the way and for whatever reason, I am honestly speechless. I sat down to write this thinking that it would be a simple birthday post, then the whole feeling hit me.

Trying to push the whole ‘speechlessness’ thing aside hasn’t really worked, so I thought it would only be best to dig a bit more into it. And doing so has led me to realise that maybe, just maybe, this time around, after having reflected on my previous years, I’m meant to be speechless. It’s my cue to take my metaphorical slate, wipe it clean, and do something different by branching out - may The Almighty open up more doors for me!

Admittedly, challenging myself to try new things and trudging forward is not an easy job; in fact, it does seem rather daunting to myself at times, which is why I couldn’t consider myself luckier to have been accompanied all this while by my parents - Mrs Mom & Mr Dad - my two closest companions. To be quite frank, ‘lucky’ doesn’t even begin to encapsulate the blessing that Mrs Mom & Mr Dad are. With any path I have taken, they have always given their utmost support, and I know very well that with any path I choose to take from now, they will not only give their invaluable support, but expert, one-of-a-kind guidance.

Such an incomparable, unique and personal support system has given me the self-strength that I needed to challenge myself more. In past years, I’ve prayed to God for health, happiness, safety, and other abstract concepts along the same lines. For this year, I think that the only thing I’d really like (aside from that eternally-treasured spot in Jannah for me and my loved ones) is opportunity. After my pondering, and my realisation of the opportunities I’ve had and how they’ve panned out, I pray for more chances at using opportunity. Let’s see where my 15th slate takes me this year.

這個月的NTS Radio節目邀請到了來自西藏邊境的北印度拉達克 — 聲音藝術家 Ruhail Qaisar，擔任後40分鐘的客座mix。讓我驚艷的是他節錄了來自英國攝影師Tim Malyon的圖像聲音，來為此介紹拉達克當地的文化與風景，像是旅行到了喜馬拉雅 🦬。

前20分鐘由我來播放台灣實驗音樂製作人的作品，與一首來自原住民的民歌“從現在起 Paiska laupaku”。 其中也收錄了我的一首尚未發表的現場錄音。

藝術家介紹：

Ruhail Qaisar 是來自印度拉達克的自學多媒體藝術家和聲音製作人。 他專注於聲音藝術和實驗電影製作。 自 2016 年以來，他一直以他以前的演出名稱“Sister”在印度各地演出。

作為一名聲音藝術家，他透過結合白話詩和即興創作來探索記憶的局限、代際關係和潛意識的運作。

他的作品專注於傳遞事件和當地神話中的記憶，這些記憶是他在拉達克偏遠村莊長大的回憶而發展，他被後工業時代的噪音和令人不安的電子設備所影響，而加以融合在他的創作中。而他在今年的 “CTM Festival :Transformation”參與了線上的«黑客實驗室多語言演出»的項目 {Quz民hi辩 क्शन化證कॉ} https://youtu.be/gb2SoniqlCI

Ruhail Qaisar is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist and producer from Ladakh, India. His work focuses on sound art and experimental filmmaking. He has been performing all over India since 2016 under his previous moniker “Sister”.

As a musician, he explores the confines of memory, intergenerational trauma, and the operational swarm of the unconscious through the incorporation of vernacular poetic gestures and improvisation.

The work serves to transmit memories carried through events and local mythos as developed through his recollections of growing up in the remote villages of Ladakh, disturbed with spastic barrages of post-industrial noise and unnerving power-electronics.He also participated remotely in the “Musicmakers Hacklab” at “CTM Festival: Transformation 2021” . With the highlight being the multilingual feedback loop performance piece {Quz民hi辩 क्शन化證कॉ}

He is currently a resident at HKCR with his show The Hounds of Pamir, which started as 60-minute live sets drawing from sub-zero climes, local field recordings, and Silk Route travel journals, further branching into inviting guests from all over the globe showcasing collaboration with myriad scenes, collectives, and individuals despite the inaccessibility and the limitations of the pandemic.

➥【比較以個案與以群眾為基礎的兩種感控介入措施於台灣新冠肺炎防治的成效】：
■中文摘要
台灣是世界上少數未實施嚴格封城、學校停課但新冠疫情控制良好的國家。台灣研究團隊比較了兩種感控措施於疫情防治的成效。
　
■目標
比較以個案(case-based)與以群眾(population-based)為基礎的兩種感控介入措施於台灣新冠肺炎防治的成效。
　
■方法
使用隨機模型中的分支過程方法(stochastic branching process model)分析台灣159位COVID-19確診病患的疫調資料，比較以個案與以群眾為主的兩種感控措施於疫情防治的成效。前者包括找出個案、接觸者追蹤及親密接觸者隔離14天等隔離檢疫措施;後者包括維持社交距離及配戴口罩等。
　
■結果
(1)55%的感染傳播事件發生在尚未有明顯症狀的疾病症狀前期(pre-symptomatic)。
(2)以個案為主的感控措施，可將R0由2.50降至1.53 (註)。
(3)以群眾為主的感控措施，可將R0由2.50降至1.30。
(4)以個案與以群眾為主的兩感控措施並行，可將R0由2.50降至0.85。
　
■結論

あのつけ麺、小金井のお店に初訪問！東京都小金井市『大勝軒小金井』に初訪問してきました。つけ麺の発祥は“ラーメンの神様”と呼ばれ、“ラーメンの鬼”佐野実氏が唯一尊敬する人物と公言していた山岸一雄氏によるもの、というのが定説だそうです。こちらは氏が創業した「大勝軒」の暖簾分け店であり、その精神を受け継いだ一杯が味わえます。美味しく頂きましたので早速ご覧ください！

First visit to that Tsukemen shop in Koganei! I visited "Taishoken Koganei" in Koganei City, Tokyo for the first time. It is said that the origin of tsukemen is called "the god of ramen" and that it is due to Mr. Kazuo Yamagishi, who was professed to be the only person whom "ramen demon" Minoru Sano respects. This shop is a warm-up restaurant of "Taishoken", which he founded, and you can enjoy a cup that inherits that spirit. It was delicious so please have a look!
