檜扇蛙是以紅鰭為特徵的蛙類。擁有能夠在肚子內儲存費洛蒙氣體，令自己如氣球般浮起的罕見生態。
地盤意識強烈，即使面對巨大的魔物亦會展開紅鰭作威嚇，可是此舉卻反而會刺激到對方將自己視為攻擊目標。有些獵人會以檜扇蛙的這個特性為分散魔物注意力的誘餌。
