" After tabulating the scores, technically Tiban edged out Havoc Brothers to first place by a small margin. However this year we increased the public votes from 30% to 40% and added another element called social media engagement at 10%.The judges weigh in the other 50%

While one act scored very high with all the judges, the other did extremely well through their social media engagement and fan support. I personally believe, Tiban, who is a former VIMA award winner will graciously accept a tie as he has many times indicated how he has always wanted to grow the local music scene,especially young talents. Bhairavi is an exceptional song which deserves to be in the best movie soundtracks while Paapa is a pulsating and exciting dance song which is a bold statement in the local Indian music scene.

In light of that, as Chief Judge, i am officially declaring the first place of the VIMA BEST INDIAN SONG as a tie between Havoc Brothers and Tiban and both will receive the Gold crystal award. Young Ruff's Tamilan anthem has been declared as a silver winner as his scores were not too far off the first 2. No bronze winner will be awarded.

Also we are pleased to announce that Ravinder Bhinder from Singapore has won the Best Punjabi Song and becomes the first non-Malaysian recipient of Punjabi song award. We will also be awarding Adithya Srinivasan from Singapore a special cert for his very high scores with the judges across all his nominations".

All winners will be invited to a special awards presentation and early dinner next week Friday at Narayana Tea Stall in Seremban ( www.facebook.com/narayanateastall)
