Girl & the Goat, by @bokarestaurantgroup , finally opened in Arts District. Helming the kitchen is “Top Chef” and James Beared Foundation Awards winner, Stephanie Izard @stephanieizard !For the dining areas, they have a beautiful atrium, private dining room and patio. Brunch is available on the weekends from 10 am to 2:30 pm. Dinner is available daily from 5-10 pm. Their soft opening will be on July 8. You can make reservation via @opentable now. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago and I am so excited that they are finally in LA. My favorite dishes include the duck tartare, pan-roasted scallops, grilled whole branzino, and sticky glazed pork shark! Don’t forget to order the mango sticky rice for dessert too! The more you expect in return for your actions, the more your heart feels lonely & empty when life disappointments. As my birthday has come and gone, I feel so fortunate to have been able to celebrate it in close proximity with love. The obviously difficult year that was 2020 has reminded me once more how unpredictable life can be, and how important it is to continue sharing laughter & love no matter what the circumstances are, to find joy in the littlest of things, and to just let go of the things you can't control. The choices I've made in my life have lead me down a windy road that ultimately directed me towards love, and I can't help but to keep reminding myself to stop and just feel the beautiful amount of gratitude & blessings that life has beared fruitful. Despite being thousands of miles apart from so many people that I care for, the love shared through online messages, video calls, silly memes and digital nudges over the last few days is so much more than I will ever care to expect. And upon receiving it, I'm reminded that love ultimately transcends all boundaries. Having the ability to share that love with my special someone, and then see their world light up in response to it, helps me know that all those early difficult experiences I once had were completely worth it. We never truly fail until we give up. And we never truly succeed until we get to share it with the people we love. At my age now, my Dad started his life as my father, and as much as he has been a guiding light throughout my entire life, I've learnt to let go of living life based on those expectations I had for myself, and in turn learn to live a life that is ultimately about finding my own version of success. And thus far, I sure feel like I'm succeeding ☺️
