A Good Thing At the Wrong Time?

“He who blesses his neighbor with a loud voice early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse by him.” (Proverbs‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

A good and true thing said and done at the wrong time in the wrong way also turns out to have a bad outcome.

We can see this in the life of Joseph. At the age of seventeen, Joseph received prophetic dreams from God about his brothers and parents bowing to him. In his excitement, he told his father and brothers about it, causing his brothers to become more angry and jealous.

They were already feeling that way because Jacob practiced favoritism towards Joseph, and the dreams just made it worse. It had pushed them over the edge, to even plot murder against Jospeh.

Were the prophetic dreams evil? No of course not. They were holy and good from God. The problem was that the way and timing Joseph communicated his dreams resulted in an evil outcome, as good as a curse.

Some good ideas are before their time right now. They have not caught on in a big way yet. However, when the right time comes, they can become the next big thing in the world.

Timing is so important. When we do the right thing at the right time, we will have blessed results.

On the other hand, if we act hastily before it is the right time, we may get disappointed and even hurt by the backlash that happens. Grace for a matter is not yet available before its appointed time.

Our Willing and Generous Abba God

“He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’ and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’? I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.

“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”” (Luke‬ ‭11:5-13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Why do we need to be persistent in prayer when God is so willing to give good gifts to us?

God does everything under Heaven according to appointed times and seasons—a system of divine order.

While you are waiting for the time to arrive, He will prepare your heart and mouth to come into alignment with His plans, believing and speaking those things into manifestation.

So we pray persistently not because God is reluctant, but rather we are preparing ourselves for God’s appointed times and seasons.

Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking…until the appointed time of deliverance arrives.

“But I’ve been praying for years and nothing has changed!” This statement shows unbelief. Sometimes people pray one thing and confess another. They declare they believe God has healed them but they complain to others how they are feeling so sick and in pain. The apostle James said that a double-minded man who does not ask in faith cannot expect to receive anything from God.

Is the manifestation not here yet? That means the appointed time has not arrived yet, so keep on praying. Abraham was promised a son, but it was only many years later that the fulfillment happened. I am not saying that your manifestation will take years, but there is a right time that only God knows.

In the meantime while you are waiting, meditate on the passage above and get a sense of how generous Abba God is towards you. He loves you and supplies your good heart’s desires through His Spirit.

If an unwilling friend will reluctantly give you what you keep asking for because of your persistence, then all the more Abba God will exceedingly and abundantly answer your prayer requests. Believe this and wait for the appointed time!

Reversal is Coming

“It shall be, when Yahweh your God brings you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and goodly cities, which you didn’t build, and houses full of all good things, which you didn’t fill, and cisterns dug out, which you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive trees, which you didn’t plant, and you shall eat and be full; then beware lest you forget Yahweh, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:10-12‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The wicked giants were in the promised land, but God allowed them to be there for a time because they had the stature and strength to build up the infrastructure for the children of Israel.

At the appointed time, God sent His hornet to thin down the number of giants and empowered the children of Israel to slay the remaining ones.

Then, God’s people moved into their rightful inheritance, all prepared for them. While they were wandering in the wilderness and seeing God’s faithfulness in those forty years, their inheritance was being built up. They stepped into a finished work.

Today, God is also preparing His people to enter into a finished work. We will restfully enjoy the fruits of the world’s labor. A time of reversal is coming which will be a time of great increase for God’s children.

How come God can be so good to believers? It is all because of Jesus’ blood that was shed at the cross. It paid the price for our sins and cleansed us to be forgiven and righteous in God’s sight. His favor shines upon us and we can receive good that we did not earn or deserve on our own. This is Grace!

It is not about being busy or working the hardest. Timing and positioning is the biggest factor, and God can put you where you need to be.

環境保護署（環保署）於2021年第一季推出為期一年的入樽機先導計劃，以測試入樽機在香港的實地應用。在先導計劃下，我們會於人流較為密集的公眾地方或政府設施等地點，分階段設置共60部入樽機，並透過電子支付平台提供即時回贈(每個塑膠飲料容器為$0.1，以鼓勵公眾交回使用完的塑膠飲料容器。每一張八達通或每一個支付寶（香港）帳戶每天最多可交回30個塑膠飲料容器，並領取有關回贈。公衆亦可選擇將回贈捐給指定的慈善機構（香港公益金、香港童軍總會或香港女童軍總會），每天數量不限，造福社群。政府委聘的承辦商會將收集到的塑膠飲料容器會交予合適的本地回收商，確保妥善循環再造。第一批入樽機已於2021年1月投入服務。

To pave way for the future Producer Responsibility Scheme on Plastic Beverage Containers (PPRS), the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has rolled out a one-year RVM Pilot Scheme in the first quarter of 2021 to test out the application of RVMs in Hong Kong. Under the pilot scheme, 60 RVMs would be installed in phases at locations such as public places or government facilities with relatively high foot traffic, with provision of instant rebate $0.1 per plastic beverage container) via e-payment platform to encourage the public to return their used plastic beverage containers. Each Octopus card or Alipay (Hong Kong) account allows the public to return a maximum of 30 plastic beverage containers and redeem the rebate in a day. Members of the public may also choose to donate the rebate (no daily limit imposed) to designated charities (the Community Chest, the Scout Association of Hong Kong or the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association) to benefit the community. All the plastic beverage containers collected would be delivered to suitable local recyclers, as arranged by the Government-appointed contractor, to ensure proper recycling. First batch of RVMs has put into operation in January, 2021.
