"Why North Africa? Why Morocco?" People always ask me. Sometimes I have a handful of reasons to tell, sometimes I don't want to say a word except telling them to visit North Africa themselves.
Loving North Africa is a choice, and it is a feeling. North Africa is not where all the money comes from, but it is where you can find everything else. As for Morocco, I don't have a specific answer, but it is something God has planted a seed in me since 16 years old.
I could choose to tell the others the pathetic dating stories between myself and the North African men and make them seem horrific. But no, it's not what I want people to see - it is the beauty of this land, the depth of their culture, and the determination of these kind people!
Sometimes, I really can't explain to those around me how much effort a Taiwanese needs to spend on figuring out the dialects, history, and cultural details of a region that is so much more diverse than major media portraits.
Leading a Moroccan team of 16 people was not the easiest thing on top of the cultural differences. Understanding and feeling what they feel isn't easy. I came with so much sustainability and fashion standard knowledge upon leaving Germany. Yet the first challenge I had to find solutions for was not about fashion at all. It was transportation, a lack of tech supplies and WiFi, then finally political bureaucracy. I spent almost every night learning about Amazigh tribe differences and Darija vocabulary from the team co-founder Ghitta. My sleep schedule is up-side-down due to time differences. Most of my relatives in Taiwan think I'm jobless in life because I work remotely from home. But I am happy.
3 years later, in May 2021, one of the largest media in Morocco HESPRESS with 18M followers found us and invited me to present @moroccofashionfuture on their digital TV. I didn't attend but I sent one of the important founding team members to speak on the program. We are finally seen and we will work harder on developing the platform.

去年發了一本跟伊斯蘭教相關的繪本《Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns : A Muslim Book of Colors》,經過了一年還是沒找到好看的伊斯蘭教其他的繪本。
