『阻止超收仲介費』Put a stop to excessive brokers’ fees

移工來台已20餘年，而國外仲介費超收問題遲遲未解決，近期馬尼拉駐台經濟文化辦事處(英文簡稱：MECO)不僅未替這些受害勞工取回超收之仲介費，也未提出有效杜絕、嚴懲仲介之作為。今年又更改作業模式，要求每位申訴勞工應支付1200元之申訴手續費，在收費後僅將案件傳回菲律賓海外勞工部(POEA)，案件如同丟入大海、延遲未積極處理。
Filipino migrants have been in Taiwan for more than 20 years. But the problem of brokers charging excessive placement fees has not been solved yet. As the representative government institution here in Taiwan, MECO hasn’t done anything efficiently or sufficiently to help the victims. Recently they have even started to charge workers NT1,200 for processing their complaints! And then instead of solving the problem here in Taiwan, where the victim is, they transfer the case back to POEA in Philippines. They might as well throw the workers into the sea, they just delay and don’t deal with urgent cases.

本週日，菲律賓勞工團結組織將偕同數十位菲律賓勞工前往馬尼拉駐台經濟文化辦事處勞工中心抗議，要求其針對仲介超收問題及不合理之申訴費用/方式提出具體回應。
現場我們將邀請幾位菲律賓移工現身說法，並帶來一場諷刺MECO之行動劇。
This coming Sunday, KASAPI（KAPULUNGAN NG SAMAHANG PILIPINO）members will go in front of the MECO Labor Center to protest. They will ask MECO to take some action to stop this long-existing problem and respond to workers’ demands. Some OFW victims will share their stories, and there will be some action theater by Filipino migrant workers.
