They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and when you love something, you would devote your time to learn more about it. Diamonds are closely linked and inseparable with fashion. As a diamond lover, I would naturally want to seize the opportunity to learn from the experts. A recent opportunity to appreciate my friend Loretta’s collection gave me a new perspective on antique jewellery. Collector aside, Loretta is also a designer who strives to inject fashion and youthful elements into jewellery, to redefine and integrate diamonds further into our daily wear and life. Like how a vintage diamond brooch on the lapel of a clean-cut suit jacket paired with heels can become a juxtaposition of retro and the new vogue, as well as feminine strength and tenderness, while giving the look that finishing touch. I was struck by a comment from Loretta. She likened diamonds to be “as unique as our fingerprints" as each gemstone has its own story and value, ringing true that “a diamond is forever”.
