    你覺得身體有何特徵最顯老?很多人都會答:「白頭髮」!根據中醫理論,女性從35歲、男性從40歲開始腎精衰退,頭髮會變白甚至脫落,這是正常的老化現象。如果你「早生華髮」或者想保住烏髮抗衰老,就要從養肝腎及養血入手,因為「腎藏精,其華在髮」、「肝藏血,髮為血之餘」,養好氣血及調養肝腎,有助延緩白髮出現及紓緩脫髮問題。按體質適量食用有養肝腎功效的食材,例如核桃、枸杞子、栗子、桑椹、黑豆、芝麻等;少吃生冷食品及辛辣等刺激物;適當紓緩壓力及避免熬夜,因為這些都會影響氣血及腎氣運行;平日可以飲用含有黑芝麻及黑豆的夕米水,亦有助烏髮養腎。

    食材小貼士:
    女貞子性平,有補肝腎陰、強腰膝、烏髮明目的功效。適合有頭髮早白、視力減退、腰酸耳鳴等症狀人士服用。

    女貞子黑豆栗子湯

    Soup to maintain youthful dark hair
    Which of the body parts makes you look old? Many people would answer ‘grey hair’! According to the Chinese Medicine theories, the kidneys of men and women would begin to deteriorate from the age of 40 and 35 respectively. Our hair would turn grey or even fall off, as this is a normal aging process.

    If you wish to maintain a headful of black hair, you need to nourish the liver, kidney, and blood because ‘the kidneys store the essence that would reflect on the hair’, and ‘the liver stores the blood, and its surplus would be reflected on the hair’. Nourish the qi and the blood, and taking good care of the liver and kidney can prevent grey hair and hair loss.

    Based on our body constitution, consume ingredients that could nourish the liver and kidney such as walnut, wolfberry, chestnut, mulberry, black bean, and sesame seed. Avoid eating raw, cold, spicy, and other stimulating foods; learn to relieve stress accordingly and sleep early. All these habits would affect the circulation of the qi and blood in the kidney. Drink dusk rice water regularly, as it contains black sesame seeds and black bean. This drink can nourish the kidney, hence, keeping the hair dark and healthy.

    Tip on the ingredients:
    Ligustrum is neutral in nature; can replenish the liver and yin in the kidney, strengthen the waist and knees, darken one’s hair, and brighten one’s vision. It is suitable for individuals with grey hair, deteriorating vision, tinnitus, and those experiencing soreness on the waist.

    Ligustrum and Black bean soup with Chestnut
    Effects: Darkens hair colour and nourishes the kidneys. Relieves excessive white hair, alleviates back pain, ringing in the ears, and constipation.
    Ingredients: 1 lotus root(around 600g), 15g ligustrum, 15g wolfberries, 100g chestnut, 30g cashew nuts, 1 pack dusk rice water powder(or 30g black bean), 6 Chinese date
    Preparation:
    1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Cut the peeled lotus root into large chunks.
    2. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 2 hours. Add salt to taste.

    四招改善秋冬旱毛躁髮

    1. 慎選梳子
    避免選用塑膠材質的梳子,用天然材料製造的梳子不會那麼容易產生靜電,例如木梳、牛角梳、豬鬃毛梳等。梳子先浸水弄濕才梳頭,也可以減少靜電問題。

    2. 用護髮素
    洗頭時水溫不宜太熱,最好接近人體溫度,洗頭後記得用護髮素撫平洗頭時打開的毛鱗片,尤其滋潤髮尾部份。如果經常使用捲髮棒的話,不妨使用髮尾油保護頭髮。

    3. 吹頭技巧
    洗頭後宜用毛巾印乾水份,用力搓容易產生靜電。風筒溫度過高容易造成頭髮毛鱗片受損,宜用暖風吹頭,風筒與頭髮保持至少15厘米距離,把頭髮吹至八成乾就好。

    4. 髮油
    於髮尾塗上適量髮尾油也能有效減低頭髮毛躁感。

    5. 內在調理
    中醫理論認為「肝藏血,髮為血之餘」、「腎藏精,其華在髮」,想秀髮健康就要注意肝腎保養,適量進食黑色食物,例如黑木耳、黑豆、黑米、黑糯米、黑芝麻、黑棗、桑椹、烏雞等,有助滋養髮絲。

    Four tips to improve dry hair during autumn and winter
    The humidity during autumn and winter is relatively lower; our skin tend to feel ‘tighter’. Even our hair will feel like haystacks – dry, have split end, brittle and charged with static electricity. We would not be in a good mood if we cannot keep it under control. In order to maintain silky hair, take a look at below tips.

    1. Choose suitable combs
    Avoid using combs that are made of plastic. Use those that are made from natural materials, as they can prevent the static electricity from forming. Consider wooden comb, horn comb, or bristle comb. It is a good practice to soak the comb in advance, as it can help reduce the static electricity.

    2. Use hair conditioner
    Avoid using hot water to wash the hair; opt for water that matches the human body temperature. Remember to use hair conditioner to smoothen and moisten the dry split ends. This is particularly useful for those who always use curling iron to style their hair.

    3. Technique to blow dry wet hair
    Using a towel to rub against your hair after washing it can easily cause static electricity. Use a hair dryer instead at an appropriate temperature, as hot wind can damage the hair. Keep the hair dryer at least 15cm away from the hair and stop blowing when it is about 80% dry.

    4. Hair oil
    Apply hair oil at the tip of the hair, as it can help keep them moist and reduce splits.

    5. Regulate the body
    According to Chinese Medicine, ‘liver stores the blood; and the hair is the extension from the blood’ and ‘kidneys store the essence; and the essence is reflected on the hair’. In order to have healthy hair, take care of the liver and kidneys. Consume an appropriate amount of ingredients that are black or dark in color, for instance, black fungus, black bean, black rice, black glutinous rice, black sesame, black date, mulberry and black-bone chicken, as they can help nourish the hair.
