Green! Green! Green!
Bamboo Lake Valley used to be a natural barrier lake formed after the eruption of a volcano, but the lake water has receded long time ago.
In the past, large tracts of bamboos were planted here; when the wind blows, the bamboo dances with the wind like waves on the surface of a lake, hence the name.
Behind me, you can see the volcanic terrain with white sulphur gas emerging from the green mountain, which is the famous Xiao-You-Keng (little sulphur pit) in Yangmingshan.
Xiao-You-Keng is one of the two major volcanic ruptures in Yangmingshan, and it is a geological landscape formed in the post-volcanic period. This smoking crater can be seen in many scenic spots in Yangmingshan National Park.
