【專文】「元旦」的英文是Yuandan？

什麼？「元旦」的英文是Yuandan？有沒有搞錯？
今天不是愚人節，我也沒必要開這種玩笑。英文確實有Yuandan這個字眼，意思就是陽曆1月1日的元旦。Yuandan甚至還被英國的權威詞典收錄，是英文詞彙正式的一員。
這部權威的詞典是《柯林斯英語詞典》（Collins English Dictionary，簡稱「柯林斯」），從1979年出版至今，已有40餘年，在英語世界備受尊崇，深獲信賴。翻開柯林斯的紙本詞典，或者上詞典的線上版搜尋，都能找到Yuandan這個詞語，白紙黑字，真真切切，童叟無欺。
