    【A Photo with A story 一首歌，一段故事】

    好不容易抵達到Toumani老師的家，在庭院裡興奮等候著。從午睡中起床的老師終於現身，『你從哪裡來呀？』『西班牙』『歐，我很喜歡西班牙，因為那是我人生第一次被邀請去國際演出的地方。』

    『好的，那麼今晚，我們就來進行這個儀式。』
    『沒問題』Yerko肯定地回答。

    老師前腳剛走，Yerko趕緊轉身問身旁的小伙子，『什麼儀式啊？』

    小伙子不疾不徐的告訴他。
    『不要擔心，你只需要現在出發前往市集，準備五個白色的Kola果，和五個紅色的Kola果，將它們放在一起，並放上一點錢，今晚獻給Toumani老師就沒錯了。』

    就在那天從市集回來之後，他遇見了另一個改變他生命的人，他叫做Djeliba Baba。

    Djeliba Baba看見Yerko，好奇的詢問，『你也是演奏Kora來這裡進修的人呀！』
    『不不，我不會彈Kora琴，事實上，我從來沒有真正看到過一把Kora琴。』Yerko有點尷尬的回覆。

    『所以，你是跟我說，你從遙遠的地方特別來到巴馬科，學習一個你從未看過的樂器嗎？』

    在這個反問之前，Yerko其實從來沒想到，這的確是他所做的事情。

    『你不明白你做的這件事意義，』Baba細語著，『西非的人們相信，不是人們選擇了Kora琴，而是Kora琴選擇了要來演奏他的人。Kora是屬於djelis，他們並不僅是為音樂而存在，而是乘載著這裡深厚的歷史與文化，這些演奏的說書人與歌者，是一群重要歷史的守護者。』那一刻Djeliba Baba眼眶不自覺的泛淚。

    《En busca del hombre》
    Una vez en Mali, subió a un taxi y el conductor le preguntó la dirección. Yerko le enseñó el CD y le dijo:
    —A casa de este señor, por favor.
    El taxista le miró incrédulo:
    —Disculpe, no sé donde vive este hombre.
    —Pero alguien lo sabrá, —le animó Yerko con una sonrisa —, podemos preguntar juntos hasta encontrarlo.

    Una hora más tarde, a mediodía, encontraron la casa de Toumani.

    —El maestro está,
    —le dijo el chico de la puerta —. Yerko pensó que estaba realmente de suerte, ya que Toumani viaja muchísimo. Ni en sueños había imaginado coincidir con el famoso músico, su máxima expectativa era recibir clase de alguno de sus alumnos.
    —Pero tendrás que esperar, —prosiguió el muchacho —, ya que él duerme de día y se despierta por la noche. Pero se ha levantado para conocerte.

    【找尋那個人】
    一抵達馬利，Yerko找了台計程車，給司機看專輯並說：『我要到專輯上這個人的家。』
    那司機一臉難以置信的回應：『抱歉，可是我並不知道這個人住哪裡啊！』

    如同身負任務般，Yerko面帶微笑鍥而不捨地回道：
    『沒關係，總會有人知道的吧…我們可以一起找到他！』

    一個小時過後的午後，他們來到了Toumani的家。
    門口站著一名男孩說：『是的，老師就在這裡。』

    Yerko不敢相信自己的幸運，因為他知道Toumani經常外出演出。
    在他瘋狂的想象中，從沒想過能真的見到老師本人，只期望能找到老師的學生並學習Kora。
    『但你需要等等，』男孩說，『因為老師通常白天睡覺，晚上才會起床。而他已經起床要準備見你了。』

    《In search of the man》
    Upon arriving in Mali, Yerko found a taxi. He got in, showed the driver the CD, and said, “To this man's house, please”.

    The taxi driver looked at him in disbelief and replied, “I’m sorry, but I don’t know where this man lives”.

    Like a man with a mission, Yerko urged him on with a smile: “But somebody will know… we can ask together until we find him”.

    An hour later, at noon, they found Toumani’s house.

    At the door stood a boy, who simply said: “The maestro is here”.

    Yerko couldn’t believe his luck, because he knew that Toumani is constantly travelling. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined that he would cross paths with the maestro himself. The most he had hoped for was to have kora lessons with one of Toumani’s students.“But you'll have to wait,” the boy went on. “He usually sleeps during the day and stays awake at night, but he has gotten up to come and meet you.”

    《La llamada》
    A veces hay cosas que ocurren el momento oportuno. Un día cualquiera, un amigo prestó a Yerko algo de música de percusión para estudiar. Entre toda esa música, se incluía inocentemente un álbum de kora. Al escucharlo, quedó fascinado por el sonido de la kora y quiso aprender.Durante ocho meses no pudo encontrar ni un profesor ni ninguna kora por donde él vivía, así que decidió ir a casa de uno de los intérpretes del CD: Toumani Diabaté, que vive en Bamako.

    【召喚】
    有時在生命中，事情總在對的時候到來。有一天，一位朋友借Yerko打擊樂專輯研習，其中不經意地放了另一張Kora的專輯。當Yerko第一次聽這張專輯時，被Kora的琴聲深深地吸引，一份內心深處的強烈渴望召喚著，爾後，整整八個月的時間，他不斷找尋Kora和學習的老師，卻始終沒有回音。也許人們覺得他會就這麼遺忘這份渴望，但事實卻相反，他決定，直接尋找專輯上那個深深讓他著迷的音樂家，那人是Toumani Diabaté，住在西非馬利的首都，巴馬科。

    《The calling》
    Sometimes in life, things come along at just the right time. One day, a friend lent Yerko some percussion music to study, among which a kora album had been unwittingly included. Upon hearing it, Yerko was fascinated by the sound of the kora, and he was immediately gripped by a desire to learn more. He spent the next eight months searching the city where he was living, but he could find neither a kora nor anyone musically versed in the instrument. He might have left it there, but instead he decided to seek out the musician whose CD had so enchanted him, the kora virtuoso Toumani Diabaté, who lives in Bamako, the capital of Mali, in West Africa.
