攝影史敘事工作坊周三來到宜蘭,走入高俊宏的書寫作品《小說》裡的數個場景——蘭陽溪出海口三郃水的鰻寮、已故台籍日本兵張正光先生住所、早年原為加禮宛(噶瑪蘭族)聚落的季新村,以及葬有加禮宛人遺骸的「大眾廟」。
行過荒涼的風沙,四處漂零的海岸垃圾、報廢汽車、無人鰻寮、河豚和狗屍、海港村落小徑,是台島的邊緣景緻,也是埋藏在異質空間中的邊緣「歷史-影像」從佚失到復現的線索。
季新村原住民聚落與台灣影像史的淵源,還可推至馬偕博士在19世紀至宜蘭行醫傳教時拍攝所留下的數張珍貴照片。我們遇到的季新村居民多姓「偕」,即是因為當年噶瑪蘭族以馬偕的漢名「偕叡理」為姓氏之故。
下周我們將利用簡易素材來對田野考察的經驗、個人感知與空間的特質,建構空間模型並結合影像,思考異質空間與影像的再現與創造。

Afterimage of History: Photography History Narrative Workshops is a series of field studies and image narrative practices on “images, history and creation”, led by artists and image researchers. Through these workshops, participants will explore the multi-dimensions of photography in the course of Taiwanese history in response to the fundamental questions about photography in Taiwan– What is “Taiwanese photography”? What is the development of the history of Taiwanese photography like? What are the possibilities of Taiwanese photography?
In this series, we will focus on the history of photography, image archiving and amateur photography narratives, pulling out related historical images and incidents that run parallel to the conventional timeline of events as narrated by established photographers. We will also examine the history of contemporary Taiwan, amateur photography, visual equipment set up and research, image archiving, image narratives editing and book making experiments, in the attempt to re-imagine a new way of narrating the history of photography as well as to re-consider the meaning of "Taiwanese-ness" in the history of photography.
