    #Taiwan is set to send more #Mandarin teachers to the #US and encourage more US students to learn the language in Taiwan, as part of the Taiwan-US Initiative which launched earlier today. At the same time Taiwanese students will be encouraged to improve their #English in the United Stated and at home in Taiwan!

    The launch ceremony took place earlier today, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on strengthening cooperation in education between the two countries.

    The ceremony was presided over by MOFA Minister Joseph Wu, with addresses from AIT Director Brent Christensen, Deputy Minister of Education Mon-Chi Lio and Vice chairman of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), Yuan-rong Lu.
