台灣小吃的翻譯名以及介紹,還有羅馬拼音可以念
在翻譯的時候,是想讓老外對這些食物能一目了然
所以我盡量取他們食物中有類似東西的來翻譯
而不是很簡樸很模糊的用 rice xxx 來代替。
另外,還考慮到了台灣曾經被殖民,文化中所隱含的多樣化
因此名字中包括了英,義,法,西,日等等食物名..
還有,因為匆匆寫就,文法拼字就沒很精確了。
豆花:tau-hui (soymilk cotta) Soymilk jelly diced
and add syrup, sometimes with ginger and cooked
peanuts.
(cotta 者,cooked 也,此翻譯取自義大利奶布丁 panna cotta)
刨冰:chhua-peng (taiwanese slush) crushed/shaved ice,
drops fudge, red beans, green beans, taro...and
mixed sweets.
愛玉:Ai-yok (lovely crystal) a tropical, native
vine, made with special method, its seeds should be
washed in water, the solution will solidify and become
pale yellow jelly. It usually comes with lemon and
syrup, ice to make a sweet soup. People usually drink it in
summer to cool down the hotness.
刈包:Koah-bao (taiwanese hamburger)
Snow-white steamed bread, cutted and stuffed with
3-layer pork slowly stewed with soy sauce and asian
herb/spices.
(用 hamburger 比用 sandwich 好
有些德國風,並且 sandwich 很多吃冷的
但是刈包跟漢堡一樣都是熱食)
炒米粉:chhua-bi-hun (fried rice angelhair)
Rice angelhair, specially wind-dried in Hsin-chu
(also famous for semi-conductor manufacture)
Wok fried rice angelhair, with chop-suei (mixture
of dried shrimp, shallot, carrot, pork, etc)
a tradtional taiwanese primo.
(angelhair 天使髮細麵,老美應該都知道那是啥玩意
一般米粉多翻為 rice noodle 或是 vermicelli)
紅龜粿:Ong-ku-koe(red turtle custard)
Sticky red rice custard, molded with a very special
turtle shape, the filling is sweet red/green bean
paste
and flavored with bamboo leaf, it is a special snack
for seniors' anniversary.
(以前多翻為xxx rice cake,唉這些人不會想些漂亮一點的翻譯麼)
碗粿:Oan-Gue (gateau de riz sale)
Also a rice custard, but it's salty. Made with
short-grain rice flour, shallot-flavored, meat,
shrimp,
molded in bowl so named. Served with garlic soy sauce,
taiwanese daily food.
(gateau de riz 是法文,gateau 是蛋糕,riz 是米 sale 是鹽)
所以就是米做的糕,台灣人都是翻作 rice cake in bowl
聽起來就跟 teriyaki bowl 一樣的便宜)
油飯:Yu-png (formosa arroz mixta)
Sticky rice, quickly fried with soy sauce. spices and
shallot, shitake mushroom, shrimp and meat, then
steamed to chowy. Flavorful as paella.
Used to be a celebration food for boy's birth.
(這是我最喜歡的翻譯,還押韻,西班牙文
arroz 是米,就是 paella 西班牙海鮮飯差不多的東西
只是差別在於,paella 是要用 paella 盤烤的
在西班牙若不是那樣做法的混合飯就可稱為 arroz mixta
多符合油飯的樣子,聽起來讓人想到異國風情。)
春捲: (spring roll-formosa fluta)
Mixture of meat, vegetable and seafood, rolled
in thin flour sheet, quickly fried, a famous
appetizer.
(同樣也是西班牙文 fluta 是墨西哥菜中用麵皮捲起來
油炸的食品,跟春捲做法極為類似)
肉粽:Bah-Chang (bamboo tamale)
Sticky rice, stuffed with meat and shitake mushroom,
eggs and some optional flavor, wrapped in bamboo leaf
and tied like a pyramid. Water-boiled to finish, so it
tastes with bamboo's flavor.
(tamale 是墨西哥食物,玉米葉包裹玉米粗粒,中間夾上碎肉餡
跟粽子實有異曲同工之妙,想想粽子以前都翻成 sticky rice bun
聽起來就沒食慾)
肉圓:Bah-Oan (meaty mochi)
UFO shaped mochi made with yam flour, filled with
ground pork, dried bamboo tip and shrimp, then fried
with low temperature oil to keep it soft and white.
Served with a sweet and sour sauce.
(肉圓像不像包肉的麻薯? 外面皮 裡面肉餡日式風情)
