I didn’t meet my father until I was 6 years old. My parents had a comfortable, middle-class life in Shanghai, or as close as you could get under communism. But they always wanted to live overseas, and just before I was born, my dad came to Sydney to set things up. I don’t know why, but in the end, my mother and I didn’t join him until I was 6.

多年來，我學到堅持不懈是至關重要的。我希望透過講述自己的故事，能成為其他可能與我有相似處境的人的榜樣：向他們展示通往目的地的路不止一條，有很多路可走。你只需要邁出眼前這一小步，然後再邁出下一步，幾年下來，將會成為巨大成就。

［你需要兩顆巧克力］
不論在職場或生活中，你是不是有時候會覺得不如意，心情不愉快，這時候你怎麼辦？也許我們需要的不是去解決這個問題，而是轉移注意力，緩解這個問題的騷擾程度。但是怎麼轉移注意力呢？這時候，也需要兩顆巧克力。
昨天有位粉絲來跟我私訊，表示她移民國外，結婚與就業，但是近日公司不敵新冠疫情，進行縮編，致使她不幸失業，心裡很挫折，覺得自己是個失敗者｡還好她讀了我的書：｢失業教我們的事｣，明白一件事：
｢失業不見得是自己的錯｡｣
於是她感到釋然多了，不再過度罪責自己，輕鬆一些｡而且在我的書裡，也有另一個啟示，失業是要我們不再直直走下去，而是試著轉彎，走出另一條路，她想想過去在職場有多次的不順遂，其實都是重要的訊息，告訴她必須做出其他的選擇｡
於是她跟先生談過，先生提醒她可能是個性使然，協調性不足，不妨嘗試獨立作業，而不是再去上班｡
她的英文好，想在當地做兒童美語家教，於是詢問我有沒有開線上課程，讓她在海外學習做斜槓｡這時候，我的腦海裡突然出現一個畫面，看到一個人走在長長黑黑的隧道裡，走著走著，看不到盡頭，心中有很多的懷疑與否定，不時想要放棄｡就在此刻，射進一道光，看到亮處，走出黑暗｡
寫作，就是這個目的｡粉絲陳浚凱先生是風水專家，當我寫職場易經筆記時，經常來留言表達進一步看法，讓我受益良多｡日前我在談3年前自己也被失業，他來留言，我的寫作產生了影響力，默默幫助不少人用不同的觀點面對困境，展開新的人生局面｡他寫道：
｢光芒不在大小，而在黑暗中給人溫暖與希望｡｣
這句話有觸動我，真心認為這是我想做的事｡
上班族多數時候都是人在江湖，身不由己，很多事沒法預料也沒法控制，難免心情會委屈或鬱悶，一個人想著想著就糾結，走不出來｡可是轉個念頭，換個角度想事情，問題就自己解決了，這是很奇妙的事｡這時候，文章或書籍就扮演了開示的作用，而我很幸運能夠寫作，做了這個按下｢開關｣的人，讓黑暗的房間亮了起來｡
我們每個人活在這世上，都是有意義的｡意義，不是去找出來，而是自己賦予的。你想給自己的人生賦予什麼意義，決定你的人生格局與寬度｡我從學生Daniel身上學來一個觀念，他曾經是大企業的業務主管，業績每年第一，努力到頭上有兩個50元大小的鬼剃頭，卻還是在公司購併時被誤殺｡他說：
｢每個人身上都要有兩顆巧克力｡｣
一顆是給自己吃的巧克力，也就是利己｡
一顆是給別人吃的巧克力，也就是利他｡
我們要活下去，必須利己；但是要快樂，就必須利他｡如果意義必須要去尋找，那麼從利他著手，會更容易找到。你會因此幸福與快樂，重要的是它讓你偉大，並產生光榮感｡我們從小被教導要尊敬別人，其實我們都忘了最應該尊敬的是自己，但是你怎麼做一個值得尊敬的人？就是助人﹑利他｡
今天你不妨想想，如果我可以幫助別人，做什麼最簡單上手，而且能夠日復一日重複地做下去，變成一種習慣﹑一種日常？我是寫作，你呢？
而我要再偷偷告訴你一個秘密，那就是當你找到這個人生意義，在幫助別人當中獲得快樂，很多上班時的不愉快會減低不少，為什麼？因為你有了人生重心，會發現工作不是人生的全部，那些鳥事一點都不重要，你根本不再在意｡這就是轉移注意力的方法喔，試試看，超有效﹗
當然，還有一個有效的方法，重新定義你上班那份工作的意義和使命，也會讓你上班時，找到自己的定位和方向，不容易受到一些外在紛紛擾擾所影響，心情平靜了，心就不累。而且你的效率會提高，成果會倍增，容易被公司看到你的貢獻和價值。記得，這個意義必須利他才有效果，而不是賺多少薪水、有多大頭銜。
幸福快樂，不是來自你得到多少，而是你付出多少｡

化作千縷微風，繼續守護台灣
今天是李登輝前總統逝世一周年的日子，我和 蘇貞昌 院長、 游錫堃 院長和 陳菊(花媽) 院長，陪同 蔡英文 Tsai Ing-wen 總統 前往國軍五指山公墓向李前總統追思致意。
在途中，我的思緒不斷湧現李前總統生前好幾次和我在台南飯店裡，脫下西裝，暢談國家未來的畫面；也不斷想起在我從政的不同時期，李前總統從不吝與我分享謙虛、冷靜與忍耐的人生哲學及為政之道。
今年此時適逢東京奧運進行，是李前總統極為熟悉的國家。我相信他在天上，一定有看到台灣選手在東京奧運的精彩表現。
當日本主播在台灣進場時說出「台湾です」、當郭婞淳把台灣人民的自信舉起來時，如果李前總統還在，一定也和我們很多人一樣含著淚水，感動萬分。
即使身軀遠離，但精神永在。謝謝李前總統為台灣創造出多元、民主的生命力。把個人的生命跟國家的命運緊緊結合在一起，在台灣關鍵的時刻中，用極大的智慧跟勇氣，才能讓台灣在民主化的路上走得順遂。
現在，我們在李前總統開創的基礎上，堅定走向一個生為台灣人的幸福驕傲時代。願台灣越來越有尊嚴，越來越有自信。
