That morning, I nursed you for the last time. You had gotten impatient as you waited for your milk bottle, I nestled you in my arms like the good old days, you latched but unlatched within 20 seconds. Then, I knew, you were ready to wean off completely.

Breastfeeding is a bittersweet journey and the courage it takes to stop? Nobody can prepare you for it. Aaron started sleeping through the night at about 16 months old and because of that, weaning was a breeze. My initial breastfeeding target was 12 months but my heart wasn’t all ready. I knew that this would be my last breastfeeding journey, because Aaron would be my last baby. As long as he tapped on my chest, regardless of what time it was, I allowed him to latch as long as he wanted. It was exhausting, but it was worthwhile - I would stare at him, snuggled in my arms, and thought to myself, did I create this prefect little being? Our pictures were all of sleeping Aaron because whenever he saw my phone pointing at him, he got distracted and unlatched. I am glad that I didn’t hesitate taking these selfies because I can now look at these quiet moments I had shared with Aaron as I pen this down. My breastfeeding journey has ended but another beautiful journey begins. I am ready for my body to be mine again.

I was amazed how Mae puts a positive spin to everything.

When told that she may have to take a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) swab test to check for the rona, Mae said, “Oh good, I like to pick my nose so it will help me anyway!” 😂 Even though it was something potentially scary, she saw a benefit in it and latched on that to stay positive.

This is like how she said “Yay” when told that she has to be admitted to the hospital again. She was excited about sleeping in the hospital crib, and ignored the part about getting injected for blood tests.

A child can learn this; we will be full of shalom peace if we choose to see the good in every situation.

God will restore you for every loss, and He is always working everything together for good.

God is always for you because you are the righteousness of God in Christ, blessed with every spiritual blessing in Him.

No matter how the enemy tries to attack you, his weapons shall never prosper, and you are the eventual winner. Rejoice in Christ who is your sure victory!

International Breastfeeding Week got me scrolling back to January 2020 and March 2018 for pictures of my first few skin to skin contact with my babies. Arielle and Aaron looked and behaved very similarly!

Same same but different, because it is still a challenge to nurse Aaron when we are out because is an easily distracted baby. Even at my parents’ place, he is very curious about his surroundings. He would rather go hungry!

But my biggest challenge came 3 weeks ago when I was down with dengue. Persistent high fever, aches, rashes, I was physically and mentally exhausted. My supply dipped on the 4th day of my fever as I only managed to pump 50ml for some feeds when Aaron takes at least 160ml. I was upset but determined to overcome this hurdle. Coincidentally, I had the same hurdle when Arielle was 6 months old. My beloved 阿公 passed on (It will be 2 years this month) and I had pneumonia right after the funeral wake. I thought to myself, I had pneumonia and was hospitalised then, if I could build back supply then, let me try my best again this time!

I latched as much as Aaron allowed me too, I say this because supply was so weak and slow, he was fussy, I could see him struggle and sucking hard for his milk. I told him to work hard with me as we could only do this together. Sometimes it was sufficient, sometimes it wasn’t, so we would give him a top up of bm from my extra pumps.

Besides the extra pumps I would do after latches - for 2 weeks, before I went to bed, I would prepare 2 slices of bread, 4 bottles of water for my MOTN feeds. I drank a lot more soup and water, in hopes to build supply. I recovered after 2 weeks and thankfully supply came back gradually.

Thank God! Thank you, Aaron and thank you my IG family for being so encouraging when my supply was weak and sharing my joy when supply returned. So here I am, 6.5 months into living life in 3-4 hourly blocks. Breastfeeding is easily one of the most challenging and time consuming thing a mama can do for her children. Low supply, just-nice, oversupply mamas, we all have our own fights - we can do this! 👊🏻 Happy International Breastfeeding Week!

Allen Iverson is probably the most beloved athlete to pass through Philadelphia in recent memory. Even though his Sixers teams didn't win a championship like the 2008 Phillies or the 2018 Eagles, his personality and style of play embodied something about the character of the city that fans latched on to. It's not a coincidence that Bryce Harper chose to wear No. 3 when he came to the Phillies.

Before Saturday's game against the Twins, Iverson visited with Phillies manager Gabe Kapler and even offered an assessment that the skipper looks like he can still get after it on the field.

Then it was time for the real show as A.I. was scheduled to throw the first pitch. The throw may have been a little high, but clearly the Phanatic was pleased with the effort.

Iverson said that he was as nervous as he has ever been.

"I was shaking so bad that I thought I was going to drop the ball," he said. "All of my family and friends were waiting for me to fail ... so they could laugh at me."

Well, he didn't drop the ball and delivered a fine first pitch. Based on how he played basketball, we can only assume Iverson threw that first pitch like it was his last.

Eric Chesterton is writer for Cut4. He particularly enjoys bunts against the shift, stolen bases and celebrating his birthday with mascots at the ballpark.

These 5 Allen Iverson jump shot tips will have you hitting shots consistently. The former league-MVP has always been known for his sweet-shooting touch. Picking up these tips will have you draining your jump shots from any distance and angle like Allen Iverson in no time.

    You will need:

    Basketball
    Basketball court

Learn to position your body. It all begins here. Learning how to properly position your body equates to getting good balance. Allen Iverson uses the stance wherein the shoulder of his shooting hand is slightly ahead of his non-shooting shoulder. His legs are a little more than shoulder wide apart to give him extra stability.

Get a grip. He places the ball almost in front of his chest with his shooting hand underneath and his non-shooting hand on the side of the ball for additional support. Iverson spreads his fingers for additional grip, with his fingertips firmly latched on the basketball.

Jump straight up. Allen Iverson frequently has to employ the use of his fade-away shot to avoid getting the ball blocked by pesky defenders. However, when perfectly clear, he hits his shots in textbook form. Iverson starts with perfect positioning and propels himself using his feet, knees and legs for elevation. His then cocks the ball slightly behind his head ready to shoot.

Shoot the ball and follow through. When he hits the peak of his jump, Iverson extends his shooting arm and flicks his wrist, allowing the ball to naturally roll off his fingertips. Even as the ball leaves his fingers, he continues to follow through.

Practice makes perfect. Even with his natural gifts and talents, Allen Iverson continues to hone and improve his skills through practice. Regularly shooting jump shots improves one's form and technique and will allow for greater consistency.
